mmui4670
i have a couple of questions 1) can i ONLY ally grey knights w/ space marines or can i ally a whole DH force with them ??? and 2) if i got a DH army (which id love to do) could i use cadian kasrkin models as storm troopers . or should i say if you were to play me would you accept it as a good 'count-as' model ??? cos they look so much cooler !! any other advice into DH would be appreciated at the moment as im just starting to contemplate it and would like ANY info into it from existing players :D cheers guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198174-a-couple-of-questions-id-love-answering/ Share on other sites
Justicar Valius
1) You may ally 1 HQ, 1 Elite, 2 troops and 1 fast attack choice into a Loyalist Space Marine (any codex), Imperial Guard or Witch Hunters army provided that the parent army fills 1 HQ and 2 troops itself. This is the only way to get grey knights and space marines in the same army. If you would like to use a Daemonhunter parent army you must fufill the 2 troops choices and one HQ choice using Daemon hunters then the rules by the authority of the immortal emperor of mankind lets you take certain units from codex:Imperial Guard or codex:Space marines. However if you take grey knights you can't take Space marines. 2) Yes, I'd highly recomend using Kaskirin, using them it is much cheaper to get your 5 man double melta squad and they look much better! A common choice is the deepstrike defence inquiitor unit, I highly recomen it and the 5 man double melta IST squad. At the moment there are many rumours about DH getiing an update and it is certainly true that the Power armoured Grey knights box (not the blisters) and the codex are no longer sold. If you have the codex then you'll be fine but otherwise you'll need to buy one off a friend or hope your local store still has some left.
