Valkyrion
I've had it with this space wolf malarky. I've gone through ten different test schemes and I just can't get a decent dark grey, light grey, blue grey or any other other shade of grey. Sadly, I have a 2000 point space wolf army. So, would it be feasible, fluff wise, to have a Lost Company getting themselves...well...lost, X amount of years ago, trapped on a planet called Demos, isolated from wherever by whatever. After discovery x amount of years later they decided they didn't want to back to Fenris and formed their own chapter/company. My main problem is recruitment and equipment getting. The Hounds of Demos are an actual chapter, so I can't just have them as a company strength outfit. Fluff wise, they'd have to have 500-1000 marines. Could I possibly have them using all of the Space Wolf organsation, belief structure etc but actually be Space Wolf geneseed free? They'd just be normal marines who follow Space Wolf doctrines, as their founders were actual Space Wolves? They'd live on Demos, recruit from the Demos population using normal Space Marine implants/geneseed etc? Am I making sense? jjfelber
Dude, just call them Space wolves and paint them whatever color works best for you. You are trying way to hard. hendrik
they would never consider themselves another chapter than space wolves nor would they have the resources to form one should they be a lost company. think of it, when they left they were at full strenght, during their conquest on a planet that far they would definatly have suffered some casualties, the space wolves need a continious flow of fenrisian recruits. if you want to use another colour sheme just make up a campaing in a distant corner of the galaxy and say they are a lost company who decided to continue this campaign. to represent this they repainted their armour in the campaigncolours. Ullr Direfang
to represent this they repainted their armour in the campaigncolours. i would go this route..... or make my own chapter that is similar to the SW but not from the SW.... if that makes sense... Silverwolf
Yeh, basically you've the two options mentioned; 1) Your a lost company that has decided they're to far from The Fang to return and so are going to continue your campaign for as long as you live... and decided to change colours while your at it :). OR 2) Make up your own chapter, with it's own fluff and background, that simply uses the Space Wolf codex for it's rules. So as far as gaming goes they're a "counts as" Space Wolf force, but with a different name and colouration. Fluff wise a lost company cannot acctually create a new chapter as they don't have the resources to work with. Space Wolves can only be created from the population of Fenris due to some interaction of the Canis Helix and the Space Wolves gene seed. Or something along those lines ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198292-hounds-of-demos/#findComment-2362964 Share on other sites
