Turn 1

LOYALISTS

The Shadow Scars win the roll-off for the first turn and immediately begin moving to the objective, full force. The Master of the Forge stays behind to target opponents on the other side of the map (Conversion Beamer FTW). In the shooting phase, all the foreword units run, further advancing their attack. The Scars are a walll of silver moving agaisnt the Black Legion's shadow. The Forge-Master successfully fires his Conversion Beamer, blowing away 3 traitor marines. The shooting phase ends here, with 3 dead traitors and the Shadow Scars steadily advancing.

CHAOS

The Black Legion, startled by the amazing range of the Master of the Forge's beam weapon, immediately pulls its forces away from the front lines, toward the left side of the map. They charge straight into a bottleneck position. Since any available heavy weapons have moved, there is no shooting phase for Chaos.

Turn 2

LOYALISTS

Once again, the Shadow Scars continue their advance, moving closer to their objective of the Chaos Obelisk. Again, the Master of the Forge stays behind, as does Sephaestus, who stays behind to aim his Orbital Bombardment. The shooting phase brings another three dead marines to the Master's body count, but the Orbital Bombardment fails to do any significant damage, only killing one traitor. The remaining forces continue their advance, moving ever closer to their objective.

CHAOS

The Traitors continue their advance along left flank of the Scars, positioning their Havocs in a good firing position. However, now they have the asistance of a Terminator squad and Typhus, who had just been deep-striked behind the Shadow Scars' lines! The shooting phase sees the Black Legion no damage as of yet, but the Scars' scouts are near the Terminators, and in range of almost every weapon they have at their disposal.

Turn 3

LOYALISTS

The Scars are caught off guard by the sudden arival of Typhus and the Obliderators. Sensing danger, the Master of the Forge retreats, forgoing his chance to fire for his safety, the latter of which is definately more important. Sephaestus and the Shadows, his bodyguards, see their beloved Forgemaster in danger and, in an act of heroism, charge the Host of the Destroyer Hive directly, chainswords whirring. The shooting phase is not in their favor this round, as no traitors see justice. However, the Emperor smiled upon the Shadows, because they cut down Typhus in close combat! In return, the Host only killed two Shadows. Their gene-seed will carry on in the chapter. With their Massacre! result of 6, the Shadows charge right into the Obliderators, holding them up and preventing them from attacking the Master of the Forge.

CHAOS

After continuing down the flank and summoning Bloodletter demons, the Traitors finally do some damage. A lascannon blast blows up the Shadow Scars' predator tank, and the Terminators kill two scouts. However, in the assault phase, the Obliderators fail to hurt the Shadows, and one of them takes a single wound. This is not going well for the Black Legion!

Turn 4

LOYALISTS

The Shadow Scars finally get some units into the objective zone, but this makes them a prime target for the nearby Terminators, the Bloodletters, and the Devestators. However, most of the scoring units are covered behind the wreck of the destroyed predator. Nothing happens in the shooting phase, save for one lucky marine downing a Terminator with just his Bolter. The assault phase bodes well for the Shadow Scars, as the Shadows bring down the two Obliderators, ending the threat to the Master of the Forge. Brother Mathias, clad in his Drednaught's caraprace, sends a single Bloodletter back to the Warp, holding the rest up and making sure they don't get near the Scoring units.

CHAOS

Bezerkers, Havocs, and Terminators rain hell down on the Shadow Scars. Three scouts fall and a single marine and Sternguard Veteran are killed. The assault phase does nothing, as the Terminaters are outside their charge range. Chaos begins one final push to the objective as the final turn draws near....

FINAL TURN

LOYALISTS

The exposed Sternguard move deeper into cover, now becoming scoring units and holding the objective. Sephaestus and his guard move up, hoping to get some action before the game ends. Scouts fire their sniper rifles but do no damage to the Terminators, who shrug off the slugs. A marine in squad Terrus fires his missile launcher, but does not kill any Havocs. With the final phases of the game drawing near, the Shadow Scars hold tight and wait for the final shots to be fired.

CHAOS

More shots hit, wound and miss, and another scout is killed. Bloodletters strike and slash at Brother Mathias, but fail to do more than scratch the resplendant silver paint job on the Drednaughts hull. With no units in assault range, the game ends on turn 5

Result: Crushing Voctory, Shadow Scars

As the Black Legion realizes its doom, the commanding officer, wherever he may be, orders a full 'tactical' retreat. As they turn tail and run, The Shadow Scars unleash a triumphant victory cheer, reminding the Traitors who has won the battle: The Emperor, not the false gods of Chaos.

Awards given:

Marksman's Honor: Tactical Marine who killed a single Terminator with a single bolt in turn 4. He will have a golden bullet painted on his right shoulder, forever reminding him, and his enemies, of his achievement.

Iron Halo: Given to the entire Honor Guard unit who, in two rounds of combat, killed Typhus and two Obliderators. That deserves such an honor, no?

Honored Allies and Hated Enemies

The Shadows (Honor Guard) were definately the best unit in the game. Killing Typhus and two Obliderators in two turns with only three losses? Amazing!

The Havocs were a pain in the ass. They killed my tank and two other marines in my army. When the counter attack comes, hopefully, they will be in it and I can get a chance for revenge. REVENGE!!!!

++END BATTLE REPORT++

lol I like your battle report! I like it when these are written as stories :)

Man, 10 Honor Guard? That's pretty expensive! I am wanting to get 5 more Honor Guard for my Salamanders Chapter Master, all of them will have Relic Blades! Then I'm going to mount them in a Land Raider Redeemer for fiery fun ^_^ I have found that Orbital Bombardment has either been an epic win or epic fail as you only get one shot at it =\ But I love it none the less! Good job!

Very nice, although I must say you seem to be using an illegal list. You must be 10 men strong before you get any heavy weapons for a tactical squad. Also you mentioned sternguard scoring? Unless your chapter master is a Pedro counts as you are mistaken.

Thank you, thank you and really? I'll have to review my army list. Or I could just make that squad 5 men stronger. Well, regardless of wether Sternguard are scoring units, Derrus and Terrus squads are scoring anyhow. I won anyway!

Oh, and forgefather, I'll try to make all my battle reports that way. :cuss

Or he could just buy a 10-man squad, give them a heavy weapon then combat squad them for the same result.
