Favourite Primarch.

According to the Collected Heresy, Horus made no attempts to corrupt Russ. Maybe he held a dim view of Russ, or thought his tribal upbringing would prevent him from betraying the Emperor.

Only time will tell.

Oh yeah, I am with you. I am not calling Russ a traitor, nor Guilliman or El'Jonson. But the latter two get put down as being "deceptive" in not making it to Terra on time [by the fans] yet I've never heard the fans giving Russ the same tar-brush treatment.

I think what Marshal Wilhelm meant was that Jonson, Guilliman and Russ were all late to the party. But while jonson and Guilliman have both been accused to "delay their arrival on purpose to see who would win" (in case of Jonson admittedly inspired by that novel), Russ has not. As far as I am aware anyway. We all probably have seen the accusations been brought up against Jonson, and I personally have seen it being raised against Guilliman, but not against Russ. Perhaps someone has made such a claim at some point, the interweb is a large realm.

Yes, this is what I meant. ^_^

I personally don't have a favourite Primarch from the HH Novels. This is partially due to the fact that apart from Horus and Fulgrim (bearing in mind I have only started reading Battle for the Abyss and neither of the two Dark Angels novels) most of the Primarches have only been side characters with no intence insight into thier lives as seen in Fulgrim.

However owing to the fact that I play Impeerial Fists and Templars I have to say Dorn. I especially like the way he appeared in Horus Rising and the very human emotions he displayed in Flight.

What fluff is there that states Guilliman was deliberately delaying his return to Terra?

I know I haven't read Angels of Darkness (as much as you can trust a member of the Fallen who wasn't even with his Primarch on the return to Terra), but the Lion was supposed to be travelling back to Terra along with Russ, and it was him who was urging Russ to hurry up but Russ was too headstrong and kept running off to rescue people and topple despots on the way.

Other than Astelan's words, no records that i know of exist claming the Lion delayed his return to Terra. Russ insisted on stopping to save forge worlds and such, but nothing like that came from the Lion. (which is why we have a tank named after our primarch, and you got nothing...NOTHING!)

But rather, their Primarch is named after a certain famous poet ;)

Actually it almost seems to me the the Primarchs as a whole are rather minor characters in the books so far, with a few notable exceptions. It seems we get a lot less of the Primarchs thoughts and actions and more of others interpretations of what the Primarchs are doing. While I do not play Blood Angels I am really looking forward to an extensive examination of Sanguinious as it seems most if not all of the other Primarchs, Horus included seem to place him on a pedestal just a little bit and it will be interesting to see exactly how they manage to portray him.

I would really have liked to see a lot more interaction between the various Primarchs prior to the Heresy just to flesh them out a bit more and then be able to truely see how each of them is affected by the Heresy and subsequent war and its aftermath. I think we get small tastes of it here and there but I would love to see more. At this point I have enjoyed the bits I have read on all of the Primarchs, although being partial to the Loyalists I have most enjoyed the glimpses of Dorn and Ferrus Manus we have had and really want to see the treatment that Khan, Sanguinious and Corax get.

Magnus has always been my fave baddie Primarch.

I always disliked Khorne and the World Eaters, but this pre-heresy jazz has found a soft spot in me ~ I want to know Angron and the loyalist World Eaters.

Plus, the Legion name: World Eaters. They Eat Worlds. That is definitely the coolest Legion name and not even imo ~ pure fact B)

My number 2 baddie Primarch has always been Perturabo, or Turbs to me.

Perturbed

ORIGIN late Middle English : from Old French pertourber, from Latin perturbare, from per- ‘completely’ + turbare ‘disturb.’

....?

anyway, I always loved him and thought him *bigger* than the other traitor Primarchs [barring Horus and Magnus], and when you look over the IA articles, you see that during the Heresy, he does most of the heavy lifting for Horus. Plus all his hard work before his heart grew cold.

His mechanicus ties, siege craft, amazing intellect, growing insecurity and rivalry with Dorn makes for a Primarch with massive potential in the HH series.

I hope he gets a good book [books?]

Plus they gave rise to THE coolest chug–tastic song ever: ‘World Eater’.

Which just adds more and more to their badassagry(sp), the best thing about that album is the cover, the picture of the Crimson Fist while listening to the album is a PERFECT description of battle in WH in my opinion.

I liked Corax and how he was portrayed in Raven's Flight. He was smashing tanks, throwing rocks through power armor. Ontop of that his views of the heresy and his freedom to choose who he served were pretty deep and compelling. He was very human and distraut about the back stabbing and destruction of his legion at the dropsite. Probably why he went mad and tried to clone his marines. The lion has always struck me as a douche, along with their chapter.

My favourite so far is Ferrus Manus. Ferrus manus was just a cool primarch. I liked his interplay with Fulgrim, that was a good book.

I dislike Magnus and Dorn. Both were extremely arrogant. I'm at Nikea in a thousand sons, so it may change.

The Space Wolves have been hardcore so far though.

Indeed I agree, besides he doesnt went mad to clone his Marines. He needed men quickly to save the Empire!

While I personally like Horus (before his fall), my favorite has to be Kurze. I love his logic. The whole terror tactics. I enjoyed the audio book The Dark King and cannot wait to see a full novel about him. He is so dark, mysterious, and all around a really cool Primarch. Oh yeah, and he can make the space marines feel fear. I do not think anyone else can claim that.

I'm pretty sure Angron scared more than a few. I can't recall from memory but in his short story in Tales of Heresy some of the World Eaters might have been afraid of him.
