I personally Love Konrad Kurze too and i would LOOOOOVE for him to get his own book :) i have a deep love for him and his marines except for crieg acerbus >^_^ he is evil and deserves to burn in khornes pits for the worship of the chaos gods.... technicly kurze diddnt worship the gods at all and for the will power that that takes i adore him.
I'm pretty sure Angron scared more than a few.

Remember what Saul Tarvitz feels when he sees Angron at Istvaan. He was the best the Emperor´s Children legion could offer, and he felt like running, running like a fool.

I'd quite forgotten that, thanks for the reminder! So, yeah Kurze made some marines feel fear. Angron made others feel terror. Angron wins :wacko:

uh no.... dont even say that Kurze made intire sectors surrender at the mention of his name. No one surrendered to angron.

Eh, no. Pre-heresy plenty of worlds/systems surrendered and laid down arms on the rumour Angron and the World Eaters were on the way. Post heresy no-one surrendered to Angron. Also, a whole system of puny humans surrendering is nothing. Easy to scare people. As Badaboom points out Angron made a genuine Astartes hero feel terror. Kurze didn't.

Take a read of this;

Middle of the 4th paragraph in the section of the history of the World Eaters;

"These implants turned the already fierce Space Marines into frenzied berserkers so feared that whole systems would eventually surrender rather than face them in battle."

Angron and his lads induced genuine, primal terror. As opposed to Kurze and his boys who snuck around in the dark, jumping out at people to scare them :D

No. Konrad Kurze is undeniable the most fearful thing in the universe. well was. the late primarch is 10 times worse then pre heresy angron. imagine your against the emperor and just sitting around waiting to fight. then a bunch of astartes jump out of nowhere even though they were their the whole time. they slaughter your friends and save you for last...stalking you down as you try to run and you know you can not live... as apposed to "hey guys look its angron were screwed in abou 4 minutes when he gets from there to here well nice knowing you guys" Frankly i would be much more terrified of 8 feet tall bringers of dark death then fighting world eaters in combat when i can see them running at me a mile away
To be fair, I would be terrified of both! One can stalk you without you knowing it. And the other can tear down a fortress just to rip you limb from limb. And I have not read Tales of Heresy yet, so sorry for not knowing those facts. And Alpahrius is also up there for me. Because of those secrecy and deception tactics.

I would like to point out that Night Lords were better at producing complaint worlds than Angrons horde - Butchers are asier to portray as the bad guys and create uprisings against.

But the Night Lords? The Night Lords made you feel true fear. There would be no glorious last stand. Not a chance of causing massive casualties beofre you inevitably fell. There was only your best and your brightest's bodies left with their heads intact, horribly disfigured in a rictus of fear.

There was no clear enemy. If you were lucky enough to fell one, you'd simply be the next to fall. Would you ever fall asleep knowing the Night Lords were coming for you? At least with the scions of Angron you would know it would be a single slaughter, quick and bloody. You could rest knowing you would die in battle.

There is no comfort to be had when the Night Lords want you.

I can think of many things in the background and fluff that were scarier than Kurze. You miss the point altogether. The human worlds that opposed the Great Crusade wouldn't have known much of what was going on when the Night Lords were about due to the Night Lords knocking out comms and their other little psy-ops tricks. With the World Eaters they would have known weeks, even months, in advance that they were coming. Months for the terror to build. The World Eaters were like an approaching hurricane; unstoppable and easily able to destroy everything in it's path. All their preparation would be for nought once the Eaters of Worlds landed and got to work. It's all very well being able to see them "running at me a mile away". As if seeing them coming makes it any better... Nothing you could do would stop them closing that mile... Your best warriors would fall and your weapons not kill enough because they would just keep coming and coming and coming, a wave of white and blue killers who knew no fear and craved only your death and nothing you do could deter them. Much like the Tyranids, and we know they too are far more terrifying than the Night Lords.... Not to mention the fact that Angron would lead them. A living god of battle. Don't bother setting off muti-tonne explosive devices underneath him to bring a fortress down on top of him. You won't kill him, just make him madder.

But we've gone off the point and descended into fanboyism. I merely corrected your wrong assertion that Kurze is the only Primarch to have scared a marine. A point you convieniently dismissed with your assertion that Kurze was "10 times worse". Proof please, and not just fanboy subjectivity. I (and Badabing) provided proof for my point.

The Night Lords couldn't even keep their own homeworld compliant... The Night Lord's manner of ensuring compliance was through instilling fear of them in the surrendered populace. Remove Night Lords and the fear eventually starts to lessen. Once they've left the planet for long enough that fear is much reduced and like on Nostramo can go altogether. Then come the problems of rebellion etc. The World Eaters often didn't bother sparing any of those who had opposed them. Thus leaving no problems behind and worlds that good, loyal Imperial citizens could then move to and take over. Which way is better for ensuring compliance....?

People seem to be dismissing the fact that just because you could see the World Eaters coming made them that much less terrifying. Nothing you could do would stop them. The futility of trying to fight them, even though you knew exactly where they were, would destroy any hope. Hope would have been about the only thing holding back the terror of the World Eaters from becoming all consuming.

Also, no-one sent the World Eaters to make good compliant worlds. Leave that to the Ultras, Fists etc. The World Eaters, like the Iron Warriors, were there to do the dirty work that other legions couldn't or wouldn't.

And personally the World Eaters might kill you quickly. But in general it takes quite a while to chainaxe an entire population to death. All well and good if you're in the first army/city to fall. Not so good for the mental heath if you are further away and have to withness the World Eaters methodically destroy everything in their path until they finally get to you.

Like I've already stated in another comment; we've descended into willy-waving fanboyism over who's legion was scariest. That wasn't what I said at first. I merely pointed out to a Kurze fan that Angron had also quite easily scared marines and Kurze wasn't the only one. I think because that point couldn't be countered I got dragged into a "debate" about how much scarier the Night Lords are because then TheheirofKonradCurze would have an argument he could fight. Let's move on shall we?

For me it would be Horus. I just love his tactical mind, and using evrything to his advantage. Sure Alpha Legion are tactical too, but Horus can use evrything to his own ends.

I even liked him when he was still loyalist for his humbleness against others, yet being so much more then them.

My least favorit would be Lion El'Jonson. I say he got what he deserved. Being so arrogant. I bet would he be a little more humble, his Dark Angels would never split. Plus his ambitions aren't so far away from Chaos greed.

I think the portrayal of Dorn has been good. He seems to epitomise the Imperial Fists strong, righteous behaviour that the FIsts are known for today. I cant bring myslef to like any of the Traitors despite how well written some of them have been!

My least favourite is also Lion El'Jonson. Not because of what he did etc but more along how he has been written. I am a big Dark Angel fan and had high expectations for the novels (maybe to high) but both have been sub par IMO and i still feel like we havent been given much of a representation of what he is actually like.

Having read A Thousand Sons, I'd have to say Magnus ranks pretty high too. I know some people dislike it, but I rather like his cool arrogance and especially his quest for knowledge. The way he stands before Leman Russ and basically tells him to sod off is brilliant. Must be something about Ms - Magnus and Mortarion.

Least favourite is Jonson too, because he's just so blind. He doesn't know how people work and for a leader, especially a Primarch, that's essential. It's probably why he wasn't made Warmaster - Horus wasn't just a brilliant warrior, he knew how to deal with people too.

So far, favourite Primarch is probably Alpharius. Mostly because of that part in Legion where he teleports in front of the Cabal...I can't remember what he says, but its something that made me think "oh wow, Alpharius is just too good".

I hope Lorgar is awesome too. I will be thoroughly disappointed if he isn't, I mean, he's the Primarch of my Legion!
