wizard12
I'm thinking of buying this model and I was wondering if anyone had had any problems with it. You see, this will be my first resin model and I don't think some thing that oftern come with really warped pieces is really what I want to get first seeing as I'm useless with green stuff (only managed a half-decent cloak and some unsmooth gap filling). Also, if anyone has any tips about working with resin, could you please share them? boreas
I've got the model, it's gorgeous! You will have some warped pieces. The sword was bent on itself completely. I soaked it in very warm water until it softenend, unbent it then put it in cold water until it hardened again. With time, it gained a little curve, but nothing really bad. The shield was also warped, but not as bad. The same process was used. The rest was only some fitting, minor filing and minor greenstuff for joints. When dealing with resin: -Always unwarp/unbend your pieces using warm water or a blowdrier. -Then, dry fit everything until you're satisfied. -Wash everything with lukewarm water and dish soap, let dry well. -Assemble using superglue, pin larger pieces, use GS on gaps -Use an automotive flat black primer because it contains a degreasing agent that will stick even if some de-molding agent is left(like duplicolor flat black and use it for all models now!). -Let dry at least 6 hours. -Paint -Enjoy the look on your buddies faces! I can't post images from work, but here a link to pictures: http://leblogboreas.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html Here's a pic: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KYc5-ZYzLRk/Sjuj8hvk1pI/AAAAAAAAAY8/9iTMy6TDZxY/s400/IMG_1773_edited.jpg Phil Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198570-inquisitor-lord-rex-model/#findComment-2365509 Share on other sites

Inquisitor =D=
I love this model, pre-ordered the bugger but somehow it got lost in cyberspace. So it took forever to get the bugger but when I got it, it was worth the wait. The only and I really do mean only issue I had was a small bend in the sword. I wish I'd known about the hot water trick mentioned earlier but ya know... Still love it. =]D[= Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198570-inquisitor-lord-rex-model/#findComment-2367192 Share on other sites
