Blood Angels Army Rebuild

So I haven't played for about 8 years or so, the last time I played was 3rd edition. I've started rebuilding my army which previously contained:

 

Dante

Blood Angels Honor Guard

Terminator Captain /w lighting claws

Chaplain

6 Tactical Terminators with 1 assault cannon and 1 heavy flamer

2x 10 man Tactical Squads

Rhino

MM Land Speeder

Furioso Dreadnought

8 man Death Company with JPs

5 man Devastator Squad

 

First step for my new army list was to start stripping down some old minis. Here is the previous paint job on Dante and his honor guard:

So I decided to hunt ebay for some bargains on assault marines since I wanted to add two ten man RAS. I managed to win a few auctions for a total of 20 assault marines for under 40 bucks. I then bought the new death company box so I could add some flair to all the marines. 15 of the marines were in great shape and were stripped. Five were kind of bad with lots of excess glue and some brittle plastic from an aggressive paint stripper they had used. I might use them for spares, oh well they were only like 8 bucks. The bucket of assorted stripped and ready parts:

Before my death company box arrived I put together 6 models and dusted off the paint brush after quite a few years. Still some details left but the majority of the painting is done:

My order for a death company box, sang guard, a baal predator and a drop pod, and melta guns arrived, so I started piecing together the rest of the two RAS squads:

So thats where my progress stands right now. I need to:

 

Finish painting both RAS squads

Assemble and paint sang guard

Rebuild honor guard with 4x plasma guns

Repaint Dante

Assemble and paint drop pod

Assemble and paint Baal Pred

Strip and repaint furioso dreadnought

 

I'll be busy!

I also rescued all old metal dreadnought off Ebay for $13 that I have stripped. I have begun repainting it, and I also have five more RAS underway:

I should have the Baal done soon. Still a ton of work on the sang guard though. A ton of detail on those models!

Once the Baal is done I think I'm going to focus on the 5 RAS that are half complete. Then I'll need to finish 9 more RAS, the sang guard, dreadnought and drop pod.

These are looking really good man! I have the same problem being most of my models are from the 2nd edition period and lots of updates to make!

I also got a great deal on a Vindicator so throw that on the pile of things to do.

The drop pod is mostly assembled and ready for priming.

The shooty dreadnought has a couple more details left, but should be done soon.

Coming up soon as well should be the drop pod. My old furioso is also soaking in simple green so I'll be converting it to have blood talons. Thanks for looking!

My current project underway is to rebuild my old furioso dreadnought. I've currently stripped it down and reassembled it. I used left over spines from my Trygon for the talons. I can't take credit for that idea, I saw someone else on here use the same bits.
