My Blood Angel Stormraven

Here is my stormraven I have been working on, currently it is in progress of being painted. The missiles and weapons are all magnetized for the different options and almost any dreadnought can be carried physically on the model itself. It is made from a land speeder storm, lots of plastic card and various other bits. It looks quite different from the other stormravens presented so far and I thought I'd share it :P .

JamesI, The lower hold is probably close to the width and length of the outside dimensions of a rhino so if a rhino holds 10 it should work.

Retributis, I like the drop ships in starship troopers and it gave me some ideas on the building of my SR, glad some of it came through.

Thanks for looking :P

very different approach to what most are taking with the design.

Doesnt look to agile, but definitely capable of plummeting through the atmosphere and dropping some pain on someone.

I thought of making it a kind of multipurpose vehicle of the skies, where the hold would be detachable so it could transport troops, carry a rhino sized vehicle instead of a hold, or be a sort of attack fighter without anything being carried underneath, maybe it would be more nimble without a heavy load.:D

is the hold just plastic card? i personally love the this one more then the others, the engines are massive its sooo cool do you have any pics of it as a WIP? mind if i steal your idea?

Yes the hold is made out of plastic card and I would not mind at all if you were to try something similar. I thought I had more pics of it WIP but I only found 3.

I really like this version, it is very cool and well made.

Not to sure about the way the Dreadnought is transported, but other than that it is great.

Well done! ^_^

One thing I wanted when designing my stormraven was to have the dreadnought actually on the model when it was being transported, the back seemed like the best spot and the rail system allowed me to attach and remove any dreadnought I currently have quickly. It may not be the prettiest spot or way but the dreadnought had no place else to go :).

Thanks for the comments.:)

Only thing i would suggest is maybe try and add some gubbins to the rail system to make it look a bit more mechanical, maybe some hinges where they meet the 'raven or make them look they are hydraulic and slide out of the back or something? Little bit of detail might help them look a bit more "real" :P
