Colour Scheme

Ive recently gotten back into painting Warhammer and decided i was interested in learning the game this time, i picked out the Wolves as my army of choice, their Viking style way of life appealed to me so much, theyve got so much charachter. I tried out a couple of colour schemes on them and settled with this one, but im now not too sure about it, does anybody have any tips on what i could do to improve it and if possible can you upload some of your Wolves for me to take a peek at?

apologies for the poor pictures haha, it was my first try.

if anybody wants to see some more, i can take a few better ones of different models etc.

it now says Beiner the Bloodyhanded on his base, i always liked giving each model a title, i think it gives a very personal feel to an army

They look pretty good to me. Some clearer pics would be good.

Obviously a lot about painting comes down to preference. It could just be the white balance of the photo, but they do look a bit too blue for my preference and the highlights are rather thick. Though I often have people say my highlights are too thin.

Here are a couple that I am working on. Still need to final highlight the gold and then finish the weapons, faces and hair.

Not really sure regarding the pictures. Depends on your camera. Lost of natural lighting generally helps. I had to use a flash and it changes the colours slightlt.

I don't mind the look of the blue. It really just depends on what look you are going for. I find yours remind me of the older style paint jobs GW used to put out. It certainly has a visual oomph to it.

Probably one of the most interesting parts about the chapter..we all paint it slightly different. They look great by the way! keep it up!

I opt for a dull color palate. Its war out there afterall ;)

Base coat is Chaos black(40%), shadow grey (50%) & codex grey (10%), then mid highlights of shadow grey and highlights of shadow grey and codex grey. I also dont use gold, and keep yellows minimal and dirty with lots of washes.

Heres one of my Rune Priests and a Grey Hunter pack:

Hmmmm... when I paint my miniatures, I normally paint the eyes first, then the rest of the face, because this lets me paint the white of the eyes and the black of the pupils without worrying about staining the flesh of the face. It also lets me do things like paint just a little bit over the eyes to simulate half-closed eyes. But if you have perfected your own method, then nevermind.
