Iron-Daemon Forge
Hi everone Now first thing when I do a tournament report. I kindly ask people if they do not like tournament or a type of list, please do not post negative comment about them. For me as long as it is by the army book &/or rule book then I am happy to battle it or use it in my own army, all that matter is the oppents & there attuide toward the game. So please if you do not like tournament or a style of list, then maybe this topic is not for you. However those who are here to find out the Saga of me & my team mate Space Wolves.................. Conflict Scotland is a event that been running for nine year now & since 2006 has change to double format where you team up with a friend. This year I went with a new team mate as my usely team mate had real life (recently join the police force). So chose to team up with Gordon & his Space Wolves force for this year Conflict. Armies are pick in 2x 500pts, but there must be two troops & a HQ. While say you want a second Elites, Fast Attack, Heavy Support, then you must have one of each (not include troops & HQ). So me & my team mate list Me: HQ - Rune Priest w/Chooser of Slain Troops - 5 Grey Hunters w/Melta & a Power Weapon Elites - Lone Wolf w/Terminator armour Heavy Support - Land Raider Redeemer w/Multi Melta Gordon HQ - Rune Priest w/Saga of the Beast Slayer Troops - 5 Grey Hunter w/Melta Fast Attack - Land Speeder w/Multi Melta Heavy Support - Land Raider 1000pts (500pts between us). Now to the event. First all sorry to all three oppents for forgetting your team names, when awake for 6.30am & having a long day (bus that was taken my lot back to our local GW broken down it not fun waiting a hour & a half  ) Round 1: Army - Nids & Nids Mission - d3+2, pitch battle set up. Army list - Alpha Warrior (?), 2x unit of Gaunts, Gargolyse (sp), Trygon Prime, Mawloc, 2 Zoats & the unit that give a 5+ cover save to all units with in 6 inch's. I will say right now that this has been one of the best games I had & the oppents where really great sporting player. Overall that game was pretty tigh, swinging back & forward. Rune Priest jaws of the world wolf a Mawloc  To me epic fail by immobile my Land Raider in terrain with the aim to contest one object & capture another one. While my team mate mange to get double 6 to cast his Jaws of the World Wolf into the Trygon. While the bullet where flying, the Garglyse try out flanking (not as in the rules) to contest the objects me & my team mate where holding only to met there end with my unit of Grey Hunter & Rune Priest. While my team mate Rune Priest keep casting Murdierous (sp?) Hurricane into a unit of Gaiunts holding there object. While a lone Trygon one a few wound was smashing around, the Lone Wolf saw a might foe to take on. Sadly he did get killed by the might Trygon, but it was a warrior death  In other part of the gaming table, the lone Land Speeder went to contest a object from the other unit of Gaunts only to have the Alpha Warrior hunt down it pray & destoying the lone Speeder on the very last turn. In the end the game went onto turn 6 or 7? with two object each & one left with no unit near by. Here photos from the game from round 1 to the end, sorry if not lable, bare in mind I been up from 6.30am & it a long day  http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06613.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06615.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06616.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06617.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06619.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06620.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06621.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06622.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06623.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06624.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06625.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06626.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06628.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06629.jpg http://i626.photobucket.com/albums/tt347/Insane-Psychopath/Conflict%20Scotland/DSC06630.jpg Really enjoy the game overall & would happily battle the Nid oppent again. Sorry if a few thing are left out, my report don't really go into a turn on turn account, just merely a bit of info & ton of photos -_- So next round 2 IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198782-conflict-scotland-2010/ Share on other sites
birdie
Great stuff IP, really enjoying the reports so far. How did you feel the LR's performed? did you feel they were a bit of a point sink with two of them in a 1000pt game? Archnomad
I saw your army there! I remember the grey/black/red space wolves with the funky green weapons! I wasn't playing 40k, I was fantasy, team Skaven Supremacy (Brettonians and Wood Elves) but I remember seeing you guys (:. Sorry it didn't go better. Pretty grey-red wolves deserve to win -.- I like the batreps! Did the opponents not mind you using a camera? Hehe. Iron-Daemon Forge
I like the batreps! Did the opponents not mind you using a camera? Hehe. Never had a oppent say no when ask if it ok to take photosfor a tournament report from club tournament, GW Grand Tournament or Conflict. Alway ask permission & alway say it due to seen photos it a lot better than type it out detail by detail. Also I have a sort of deslxyia so it help me out more taken photos for the games. Though if a game is down due to time limit I will stop taken photos & focuse on the game. How did you feel the LR's performed? Round 1 - Did a bit of damnge, I immobile my own in terrain when trying to contest. Round 2 - both got destroyed Round 3 - Mine get immobile while my friend raider gose up the left flank & slaughter everthing in sight. did you feel they were a bit of a point sink with two of them in a 1000pt game? Not really, as there not been that much in past Conflict to take them down. Maybe one or two Lascannons, but then again they still need a 6 to penatrate (sp) & then roll for the result. Only worry is that Guard tank we fought in round 2 (did not know much about it before hand) & of course lance weapon as why the Zoat where our No1 target for round 1. Also with the must have one of each if you want a second chose it make thing a bit limited for oppents. On that note, not got time to write round 3. But the game was a win to us. I did make one mistake (lack of sleep kicking in & though I had a chance........moral of the store is........watch what risk you take, do not take any risk when you are half asleep). The game was against Blood Angels & Grey Knight allies, they only got my Rune Priest & 5 Grey Hunter..........mission being Kill point down of war, while the Lone Wolves got slaughter so no kill point for him. Jacobus
Heya Psycho, I'm one of the Nid players you fought in the first game ;) You're right, it did get close at times...still can't believe Jaws of the World Wolf took out a Mawloc :( Despite taking up so many points I agree that the Land Raiders performed well, if we'd been able to kill them we would've probably won! (Well I think so anyway :() Cheers for the great game. Iron-Daemon Forge
still can't believe Jaws of the World Wolf took out a Mawloc Yep sorry about that I did :) when it happen. Though it was not to bad, my local GW manger unbeatible Nids got a Trygon Prime, Hivemind & a Fex in one go. Rarely use Jaws as well, alway Living lighting seem to be the power of chose. if we'd been able to kill them we would've probably won! Yes, as soon as the Raider are gone. With the amount of fire power those swarm could shot out, there only so much armour save a person can make before they take there toll. Also with the Nids fleet (3d6 pick highest for the gaunts??) the army would easily have flank us. It also take away the fire power (assault cannons, flamer, normal one w/heavy bolter Was very luck to take out those Zoat on turn one, but had we not, those Land Raider would have been gone. But again really enjoy the game, sent a PM about events I'm going to if you ever want a re-match.
