If you have a steady hand and a good detail brush possibly add small runes on the armour, or highlights. And as for the sword switch it for a swolf one or very least wash it in purple or black to show its a power weapon (what I do). Other then that I commend you for taking on a task of a dedicated wolf lord and wonder how you made the wolf's head as it is skinned or meant to be bone for his iconography.

whilst quite well painted i can't help but think it looks like a rat because the colour of the head bears no relation to the colour of the body. was it meant to look like it was a skull as was suggested by wulfen00? its just that normally wolves heads are the same colour as their fur becuase, well, they have fur on their heads too... not being rude but i just keep looking and thinking skaven rat ogre.

good use of trophies to antagonise your opponents, i always find that kind of taunting works. on a painting front maybe a couple more highlights would really help to bring the model to life and make him stand out more. the colours are nice and your painting is neat and controlled so its certainly a good effort so far so congratulations, may he lead your army to many victories.

I painted the face skin colour because in the codex fenrisian wolves and thunderwolves had limited fur on their face and hind quarters. This also makes it look like an older wolf. You cant tell from the pic but the sword has a gloss that makes it look regal and shiny and i have painted electicity on the blade but i need to redo it. I see what you mean though with the rat ogre look though.
As of right now he is a wolf lord on mount, all talismans, frost blade, storm sheild, Saga of the wolfkin runic armour and all talismans. Pricey but i cant have the deathwolf die that easy can i? I run him with 10 fenrisian wolves and the unit can almost always get a first turn charge which will utterly destroy any unit it hits. Its killed 2 Khorne berzerkers and 2 oblits before and only lost 6 wolves. I sized a frost blade (the one in the pack) up beside him and it looked way too small compared to everything else on him, didnt look like he could hit enemies on foot very easily hence the larger plain sword.
