wolf363839
Before I get stuff thrown at my head, I left the hooves on purposely. I'm not an expert at green stuff yet, so I didn't want to butcher the model by trying to make paws...maybe a project for the future. I did manage to use green stuff around the eyes to fill in the chaos marks. The "ears" are extra Tyranid bits. I'm not happy that the matte varnish leaves a little shine, but its worth it to protect him. Arms are magnetized so I can swap wargear, although I can't imagine ever removing his Frost Blade and Storm Shield. Those combined with Saga of the Warrior has really kicked ass lately. Hope you guys like it, let me know what you think. http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/DSCF2061.jpg?t=1271716277 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/DSCF2066.jpg?t=1271716320 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/DSCF2058.jpg?t=1271716364 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/DSCF2063.jpg?t=1271716428 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/DSCF2065.jpg?t=1271716453 http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae39/phil363839/DSCF2067.jpg?t=1271716487 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198923-wolf-lord-jarl-bloodfang/ Share on other sites
Emperor's Scourge
Although I dislike Juggernoughts into Twolf conversion on general principle they almost always look good. Yours is no exception. Good job. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198923-wolf-lord-jarl-bloodfang/#findComment-2369568 Share on other sites

Schertenleib
Really looks sharp! What legs did you use? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198923-wolf-lord-jarl-bloodfang/#findComment-2369724 Share on other sites
winternight
Very nice! I am tossing up between both Frost Blade and Thunderhammer/Powerfist and also Warrior Born and Bear for the Saga. Might just be an abundance of S10 weapons around me that can instagib... wolf363839
I used a chaos marine's legs. Had to remove the lower leg on one side, attached him to the mount, then re-attached the leg to get a good fit. As for the saga, I guess it depends on how you want to use him. For me, I use my Wolf Lord and his accompanying Fenrisian Wolf Pack as another maneuver unit. With Warrior Born he can thrash light infantry like nobody's business. He also provides a highly visible threat that my enemy will probably focus on. Korhal Ragingspirit
Great looking model, like some have said I am not much of a fan of Juggernaught Thunderwolves but at least yours looks awesome. Very nice! I am tossing up between both Frost Blade and Thunderhammer/Powerfist and also Warrior Born and Bear for the Saga. Might just be an abundance of S10 weapons around me that can instagib... I magnetized a Frost Blade and Thunderhammer on mine myself so I can choose. The power fist may be cheaper points wise but it looks strange having a rider that has a weapon with such a short reach visually... Plus the hammer can knock any beasts you encounter down to I1. Thorgrim FrostOwl
Very Nice!!! I am working on a ThunderWolf mount myself... He is very WIP though... I am making him out of an old Warhammer Fantasy Horse :P The one and only thing I dont like about this is.... Is that Wolves are supposed to have paws not hooves.... Just throwin it out there though. I Do like it though! Keep up the good work man! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198923-wolf-lord-jarl-bloodfang/#findComment-2371076 Share on other sites
Silverwolf
I've been looking at doing this myself, difference being that I do want to fully GS over the model, only using it as a base for size/proportions :D. Like what I'm seeing at the moment, so think I'll have to buy one and give it a run, see how it turns out. wolf363839
Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. Everybody has their own idea of what a Thunderwolf should look like. My idea is a mechanical mount, just because I like it better fluff-wise, an over-grown cyberwolf I guess. I can't wait to see what everybody comes up with. Modeling and using these guys is a hell of a lot of fun. Silverwolf
How poseable is the model? I've had a quick look at the back of the box and it seems to be fairly multi-part in terms of legs etc, easy enough to just play around with the poses? wolf363839
It is probably possible to bend the lower legs a little bit, but the leg attachments are not a simple "peg in hole". The joins are roughly oblong (sp?) in shape. Also, the jugger resembles a rottweiler (sp?). It has a broad chest, narrow rear end, short tail, and short stumpy legs. Just warning you that you'll have to thicken up some areas to really make it look like an actual wolf. LoneWulfen
How'd u paint the gold on the frost blade wolf head, looks good. Great work, the juggernaught works well, though the hooves don't really suit but apart from that great  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198923-wolf-lord-jarl-bloodfang/#findComment-2371972 Share on other sites
wolf363839
The wolf head on the back of the frost blade is actually boltgun metal, badab black wash, and mithril silver highlight/drybrush. The blade itself was painted white, washed with Asurmen Blue, drybrushed white, and then added gold to the runes on the side. ....and yes yes, I KNOW. The hooves aren't my first choice. With my limited GS skills, I did not feel comfortable changing them into wolf paws. Besides, its a mechanical bull. Hooves seem at least a little bit appropriate. Just warning you that you'll have to thicken up some areas to really make it look like an actual wolf. That doesn't acctually bother me, considering I'm using Fantasy Chaos Warhounds as my Fenrisian Wolves :). My theory is just because they're called a "Wolf" doesn't mean they have to look like the wolves we find on Terra today ;). The Chaos Warhounds look far more violent and intimidating in my opinion, while the Goblin Wolf Rider ones look almost cuddley :P. Considering that, I think a GS job of the Juggernaughts would acctually look like a larger version of my Fenrisian Wolves (And I can use the Warhounds as a guide for how to GS up the Jugger). S. Bloodhowl
Nice model, just one problem though: because you left the hooves on your 'Thunder Wolf' can't swim. STAY AWAY FROM LIQUID FEATURES WHEN GAMING, IT WONT END WELL!
