Wolf Guard Battle Leaders

Now granted, our other HQ's are more interesting from either a fluff or crunch point of view (Wolf Lords and Rune Priests respectively) but I was just looking over my codex again after my year long sabbatical and noticed the difference in saga available to our HQ's, more specifically the changes between Wolf Lord and Wolf Guard Battle Leader.

 

Then I read the restrictions on Saga of the Hunter and noted it said absolutely nothing about thunderwolf mounts.

 

So, has anyone used an outflanking thunderwolf mounted Wolf Guard Battle Leader to wreak havoc on the enemy's backlines? Despite him being on his own, I suspect that with the enhanced statline, access to strong wargear, and immediate assault potential he should prove formidable, if he doesn't run afoul of bad table side rolls.

 

Any stories? Any thoughts?

Saga of the Hunter. First 2 words: "Infantry only."

 

Thunderwolf Mount: "A character with a Thunderwolf Mount has the unit type of cavalry..."

 

So unfortunately you can't do this.

'Saga of the Hunter' is for infantry only. Characters with a Thunderwolf mount become cavalry.

this comes up all the time.

 

saga of the hunter only applies to infantry. the TWM entry states the characters unit type bcomes cavalry so no, you can't use both.
