That model is looking good! If any chapter would do this, it's the Space Wolves, and if any primarch would be ok with this, it's Russ. Im pretty sure if you're drunk enough, anything looks good enough to ride into battle.

Haha, classic idea! I have always like the idea of doing something a bit like this, partially because I think it would be awesome, but mainly to piss off the local 'nid players :) . You've actually made me consider making a datasheet for kraken riders for apocalypse!

I think the conversion is excellent (reminds me of the Colosseum beast in Star Wars: Ep. 2) and would love to see a 'nid player using it... but I don't agree that a Space Wolf would allow it. I also disagree with the sentiment that if any chapter did it, it would be the SWs. I'm tired of the picture of mindless and crazy barbarians willing to do anything on a dare being painted for the Wolves. They're boastful and hotheaded, sure.. but they would not suffer a Tyranid to live, even for a second.

 

Aesthetics-wise, I think it would suit chapters like the Red Scorpions better.. especially if it was converted just enough to simply resemble some alien beast and not specifically a tyranid.

if any chapter did it, it'd be a traitorchapter... obviously. Space wolves don't ride Tyranids. they drive over them.

Was not Fenris invaded by the tyranids with creatures left behind that evolved into some of the creatures found on fenris like the Kraken. So why not I mean if he big bug riding Space wolves why not. I certainly like the conversion more than the lion mounted ones you see.

i have to say the first thing that sprang to mind when reading the title was a space wolf riding a thunderwolf riding a nid. and i thought "wouldn't that make it a monstrous creature" :)

This is just... no. Space Wolves riding Wolves, silly. Space Wolves riding Tyranids... just absurd I'm afraid.

 

The only possible justfication I can think of is some desperate Ultramarines player trying to come up with a "Counts As." At which point I think I'd have to Gibbs slap them.

They could probably ride on a lott of things, but as soon as that bug comes within synapse it will just turn on his attacker.

If I played this army in a tournament, I'd give you negative points for comp or fluff or theme or best army whatever.

 

This idea could be painted by Natalya whats her name and I'd give it a 0 in a painting comp.

 

The only thing that could be worse would be space wolves riding giant wolves....wait....
