carnosaur93 Posted April 21, 2010 Share Posted April 21, 2010 so. iam working on a army for a small DIY chapter named "Steel dragons", gone renegate along with a reletively sized group of mechanicus... basicly, thay dont neccecarely have much to do with chaos, but use all sorts of xeno-tech. however fluff wise thay have been experimenting with mixing arcane arts (chaos sorcery) with machinery... now here comes my question, what codex would be most fitting? so far ive been planning on the SM codex, but it just seems so dull and cheesy. but lately iam leaning towards codex: CSM... due to obliterators (maybe a bunch of HW servitors on a large base), defilers, and the DP's(will be a large HQ-robot or a arch-techpriest) , and also having some variety in my troops... however with codex: SM i got scouts that i can convert as skitarii, techmarines, servitors, ironclads, and MotF what would you guys choose, and why? Durus Posted April 21, 2010 Share Posted April 21, 2010 Have you thought about using Grey Knight with a IG attachment or the other way around? Skitarii are basically stormtroopers with bionics, and i think the IG rules work better as Adeptus Mechanicus. I imagine Sentinels would make nice heavy weapon servitors (ogryns with tracks or something) or you could model each heavy weapon team as servitor (the normal ones from the techmarine box) with tech adept. You also get engineseers and a well equipped IG commander or Inquisitor even could be your Magos. And you would get some toys for your Marines as well to represent their non standard equipment.
