Marshal Wilhelm
Greetings brothers-Wolf, In C:SW on pages 18 and 24, there are pictures of SW with Chain axes. I love them and have my Templars with some (a kind of consolation for not doing a pre Heresy WE force) Have you modelled any of your guys with them? I love them and have my Templars with some (a kind of consolation for not doing a pre Heresy WE force) Have you modelled any of your guys with them? yes, i have them in a blood claw squad. every one of them have one actually. they look fearsome. (they also use the berzerker running legs) WLK Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2372721 Share on other sites
Howling
Sure do, a bunch of my guys use Zerker Chainaxes n stuff, fits in perfectly. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2372757 Share on other sites
Night Runner
Forgeworld sells them separately as well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2372772 Share on other sites
Imperialis_Dominatus
No. Can't be asked to spend the money on Berzerker bits from a bits store or Forge World prices. But I want one. EDIT: One? ONE! NO! DOZENS of chainaxes! Rip and tear! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2373916 Share on other sites
Emperor's Scourge
Yep, got the chain axes from Forge World. I'm a little pissed off that they're so fragile.(I've had one break while I was painting it) Still, they look awesome. I sprinkle them in with my Grey Hunters. They seem more Space Wolfy than chainswords to me. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2374071 Share on other sites
IL Bane
Very nice, just checked out the ones on ForgeWorld and those will definitely be winging their way towards my armory for my new Great Company. Thanks for the tip. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2374495 Share on other sites
Decoy
Once I (eventually) start re-doing my 13th to regular Wolves, my Lone Wolves will effectively be Wulfen with MASSIVE chain-axe-hammers. I'm talking, like, an inch to two inch chain-axes with a huge hammer on the other side. I'm probably also going to spatter them through the rest of my squads as well. Chainaxes are awesome. hmk17
The chain axes off forge world are about $12, but if you don't want to spend that much check bits stores for the Berzerker sprue. It has 6 axes, and should be a little less. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2374675 Share on other sites
Whitefireinferno
IL Bane Just a word of advice If you want them to be stronger remove the handle shafts and drill the heads and replace them with Brass rod or something similar since the resin axes look cool but are weak in the handles, the Beserker Axes Ive never had a problem with with strength and look fine and can normally be picked up cheap. Emperor's Scourge
To avoid snapping the rest I'm painting the axes on the sprue. The flash actually reinforces them against brush strokes. Whitefireinferno
Heh Flash that is useful for something I would say I do recomend what I said but if you can't (either lack of ability or tools or whatever) I have to say be Very careful when their in transit Nothings worse than showing up for a game to find your mini's weaponless  And Emperor's Scourge I'll apoligize for the harshness in the forum of Baals children Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2375014 Share on other sites

Thanks buddy, I'm thinking with the flimsiness of these axes beyond doubt, sculpting green stuff over the handles to make them a bit thicker. I've ordered 2 sets from Forgeworld to complement my 2 boxes of Wolf Pack- making Grey Hunters armed with chainaxes. This will begin my new Great Company very nicely! LoneSniperSG
I use the Khornie ones. I'm not too manly to carve off heretical symbols, but so far, only one of my Wolves has one. IL Bane
These seem strong enough, though the only point I'm worried about is seating them in the fists of my Marines. I may have to drill a hole first then green-stuff them securely in. Marshal Wilhelm
Looks pretty good ;) +++ With your photography, if you are able to take a closer picture to fill your view, it will be easier to see. Digital cameras have a macro function, usually a flower symbol. Use that and it allows close up focus. I hope that was helpful ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199212-chain-axes/#findComment-2388432 Share on other sites
