Call of Chaos MKIV

Recommended Posts

As work has torn me further away from the project yet again, I can't see myself managing to complete the pledge in less than a month. I'd like to formally withdraw from the call and applaud those still fighting for the dark gods. Perhaps next time there's a call, I won't pledge more than I can accomplish in a moment of over-zealousness...

As I mentioned earlier, I'll continue to post in my WiP thread as I complete stuff as it does help keep one motivated.

Death to the False Emperor.

firestorm40k - July 11th, Update 1 (for July)

Okay, I have finished the highlights on the armour of the Bortherhood; some of it is better than others, for example I'm not totally happy with the Aspiring Sorceror's highlights, they feel rushed (though I took the same time I did on all the others!); but over all I think the effect works.

Now I just have to do their Guns & Metallics, Horns, Belts, and glowing all-seeing eyes...

I've also carried on with Charkaradon inbetween, his sword is now finished, as is his base:

I'm also chipping away at his other arm, just the Combi-bolter and shoulder insigna to finish - then he's done!

Possibly have him finished by next weekend? :D ...either way, I'll update again next weekend.

firestorm40k - July 15th, Update 2 (for July)

Right, I thought I was finished with Charkaradon, so I took some pictures. Alas, I noticed I over-looked to do the black wash on one of the pipes on his Right-arm, so he's not done <_< Just as well, anyway, as these pics aren't the best. So I have a good reason for getting better ones ;)

The Brotherhood are getting their horns done (a-hem!) so I'll post a pic when that stage is finished - hopefully tomorrow...

July, Update 1

The chances of me even getting close to finishing are slim at best, since I've been slacking. But I will forge on, and wear my badge of failure with pride.

Anyhoo: major progress on the spawn, though it's nigh impossible to take a decent picture of.

You can check out the project log here, it's got another picture in it.

firestorm40k - July 18th, Update 3 (for July)

I could go on tinkering and touching up for-ever, but I'm calling it a day on Charkaradon.

So, unit wise (if not numerically B) ) my vow is half complete:

Also, a couple of days later than intended, here are the Brotherhood with their horns done.

They getting there - you might say they're marching 'slowly & purposefully' to completion :) : B)

...sorry... ;)

firestorm40k - July 24th, Update 4 (for July)

I've been burning the candle at both ends somewhat this week, but the metallics on the Brotherhood are done:

I now have to do their glowing, all-seeing eyes, their belts and their bases and they're done.

I can do that, in the space of a week, surely... :)

Just realised I got 4 more guys to paint by the end of the week! :P

July Update #3

The work everyone is doing in this thread continues to be very impressive. Here's my latest work; The Daemon Prince is nearly done:

Base should be finished sometime this week (it will have to be or the Dark Gods will let me feel their wrath!)

More angles are available in my blog. Views and comments are always appreciated.

Luckily they are mostly black so just finishing the metallics and picking out details (the bit i hate most!) to do. Expect another update at 11.55 on Saturday! :P

July Update #4

Pledge completed!

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/Phothomas82/Chaos/CIMG1711.jpg

Despite weird set backs with glue and basing material, my third and final pledge unit, my Daemon Prince, is painted and based.

Thanks for putting this event together, it helped motivate me to get a lot more done than I would have otherwise!

Edit: as promised, more pictures, including a shot of my three units, are available in my blog. Enjoy!

Whee, an update. Lots done, Changed direction on the zerker skull champ, the whole squad is down to just a bit of details to go. The Havoc squad is sculpted to the limits of my skill, and just need to be painted tonight.

1st July Progress Thread Update

Aaaand, I just realized this whole shebang ends today, rather than the 31st as I thought. Carp. Still a chance, maybe. I've already been marked off, though I thought that was going to be fixed. Oh well, we'll see if I can still pull this off.

firestorm40k - July 30th, Update 5 (for July)

Here's the Brotherhood of All-Sight:

Thanks again to Nihm for running this again! :)

Call of Chaos IV - JULY, UPDATE #3

Pledge half completed...

Unfortunately I have run out of time to complete my pledge of 1 Chaos Lord & 5 Chaos Terminators... Real life has been very busy these past couple of months, I missed out the whole of June, as i was on holiday & I've been trying to pack all my stuff for when I move home!

Although I couldn't complete my pledge by the dead line, I am very happy how my Terminators are looking so far, being the first miniatures I've painted for a long long time! Its also given me the motivation to get on & paint my Iron Warriors & I shall finish of painting my terminators once i have moved home :D

Anyways, enough blabbering on, heres a pic of the 3rd dude I’ve painted - Vork'ash

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a62/t0rtured-s0ul/GW%20Stuff/Vorkash_painted.png

& heres a group shot of what I've painted from left to right - Bruticus - Rackstrum - Vork'ash (managed to get a better shot of Rackstrum's sword too)

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a62/t0rtured-s0ul/GW%20Stuff/bruticus_rackstrum_vorkash_.png

As Firestorm said, thank you Brother Nihm for setting it up! :D

Woo, close, but success!

One squad of Berserkers, and one havoc squad, both completed within the time frame!

July #2 Update! Pledge Completed!

I set the bar a little high, pushed my sculpting skills to the limits, and barely made it, but overall, it was worth it. Probably could do better, but I'm satisfied with what I turned out.
