I clearly havn't been updating this thread enough since someone else has come and contended for the rule of the 12th Company, though in the Hall of Honour thread.

Not very much on miniature progress this time (slightly more on the blog in my sig), but well something to carry my non-assembled, non-painted army in. :)

It's finally arrived, my nice black 720 (limited edition number 212/500), designed to eventually carry aprox 5000 points of Night Lords (though it'll probably be more like 3500 pts NL and 1500 pts Grey Knights in the end)

Very nice. Keen to see the Dread.

Sadly, the Dread is put on hold for a while longer.

Right now I'm focusing on an escalation style event with my gaming group so this is what I'll be working (ever so slowly) on as soon as I finish my HQ choice..

Well, considering my 12th Company is heresy era (and hardly a full great company in size), there's nothing to say your guys aren't from the same gang originally; they just got a bit more chaotic than mine over the last 10,000 years. :D
They need more spikes/ more evilness!!!!

;)

Sorry, I don't do spikes.

Honestly though, I find the whole spikes and dangling skulls and whatnot a bit too tacky; unless you can make it extremely well (like Dan the Daemon), you risk ending up with villains from a low-budget fantasy flick. I much prefer the "hinted violence" I've been trying for with the classic dark armour and shining eyes even if I may not have succeded completely at it.

they seem a little bright for Night Lords. I thought their armour was dark blue? Other than that they are nice ^_^

They're actually a fair bit darker in normal light, those pictures were taken under a quite bright lamp. I'll see if I can manage some more natural photos in the future.

Really like your work. One of those threads that makes me go, "I want to do that too..."

Curious though, what is your recipe for blue, that is if you care to share.

Thanks. ;)

The blue is really as easy as they come, and what I put the least time and effort on..

The "soft" joints are just Midnight Blue, and the armour is a Regal Blue basecoat with Ultramarine Blue highlights, all on a black primer.

I had in mind to use Nihm's blue with Necron Abyss -> Regal Blue -> 3/1 Regal/Enchanted -> 1/3 Regal/Enchanted, but decided that this was good enough for what I had intended.

Beautiful Night Lords, just amazing.

I have one question, how did you get the blades/wing things on the tracks for the Land Raider? And what are the parts from?

They're from BoLS/Warseer user Machinator and can be aquired here: http://stores.ebay.com/Blood-and-Skulls-Industry

Is one set enough for 1 Land Raider or do you actually need more of these? edit: My bad, it's said in the ebay description that you'd need 2 :P

Looking forward to the progress of your army ;)

Believe it or not, but I'm not dead.

I've joined the Independent Characters Hobby Challenge and will try to update this thread at least with the finished models most, if not every, month.

For july I've actually managed to paint a vehicle. The very first vehicle I've ever painted in 10 years of playing 40k, actually. As with everything else it lacks lightning bolts and no weathering, but at least the first and likely the second will come at a later stage. Until then, here's a Predator that soon will be a Rhinator (Rhino/Predator combo)
