The chapter was possesed of a quest to revive the Emperor through whatever means possible be it arcane knowledge or forbbiden technology. As the chapter searched the galaxy for a method of returning the Emperor to his former glory their actions and beliefs brought them under investigation by the Inquisition. After being declared Excomunicate Traitoris following the chapters use of demons against the enemies of the Imperium the Brotherhood fled to the Maelstrom.
