Blaze
I've got an idea I've been toying with for a few years and I'm looking to actually give it a go and need some input from others. Firstly I'm a huge imperial fan, and so far my armies are SM, IG and DH. Sadly I've always wanted a true inquisitor army but I've never quite found a list I enjoyed. Here is my idea to build a fun and challenging list using eldar rules. HQ: Inquisitor Lord Rurik, Illuminati Agent. (Eldrad rules using my converted Coteaz model, modeled as a powerful psyker surrounded by flaming skulls) Rurik's honor guard/retinue (warlocks unit with enhance, embolden and some destructors. Models are Crusaders and a few sanctioned psyker models) Deamonhost Shy-Zael (Avatar, perfect especially with the demonic rule. Model is going to be the inquisitor game deamon host model with added gubbuns) Elites: Death Cult Eradication Team (Howling banshees, models are death cult assassins converted some to break up the repetition) Storm Trooper Demolitions Kill team (Fire Dragons using storm trooper models with meltaguns) Troops: Storm Trooper Fire team (Dire Avengers, using storm trooper models with modified hellguns) Parisian 8th Color Guard (Storm Guardians, using mordian/praetorian sergeants with meltas as fusion guns. Warlock with enhance is lower ranking inquisitor models, the enhance power being psychological rather then psychic) Parisian Recon Snipers (Rangers using Cadian sniper models) Fast Attack: Order of the Recurring Spirit Scourges (Warp Spiders, using sister of battle seraphim. Pistols modified to look heavier and more powerful to explain stats of guns and lack of two weapon fighting) Storm Trooper Insertion Saboteur Teams (Swooping hawks, using Storm troopers with Seraphim jump packs) Storm Trooper GravCar Gunships (Vyper Jetbikes, using Landspeeders with stormtroopers/IG crew) Heavy Support: Order of the Recurring Spirit Exorcists Squad (Dark Reapers, using sisters with converted heavier looking weapons) Parisian Heavy Mechanized Recon (WarWalkers, using sentinel models, fairly easy transition) Imperial Navy Escort, Atmospheric Transport and Close Air Support. Including Rare Sonic Resonators (Wave Serpents, Falcons, Fire Prisms. All using Valkyrie models. Fire Prisms will have wing mounted sonic emitters as their "Prism") Other Ideas I'm looking at is using my winged saint model as Baharroth. My epic looking Psycannon/Forceweapon Inquisitor model as Maugen-Ra. And a true scale marine captain as Asurman. This whole army has a rather long novel like backstory. It also connects my various armies together. It centers around a Radical Thorian Inquisitor who has survived a demonic possession and later resummoned that deamon into a host. His greatest support comes from the order of the recurring spirit, a radical sister order who are "blessed" by a spirit believed to be an aspect of the star child from old fluff. It possesses a sister and mutates her body, sprouting feathery wings and greatly augmenting her abilities. The possession slowly kills the host, and in her last breath the spirit leaps to another sister of the order. My main goal of this army was to try and create a more fluff accurate inquisitoral force. From a deamonhost that doesn't blow, to an inquisitor that could actually accomplish something. Also I have an insatiable urge to model a bunch of Valkyries. So any feedback? So far I don't have any complete models yet to show off, but I'm getting there. KingDeath
The emprah smites you for your heresy! But tbh, i think the list is pretty cool. Probably the closest one can get to a full renegade army without having to rely on the subpar choices in the DH dex. Judanas
Wow, that works very well. That and I love the Sisters units in there. I wish Seraphim and Heavy Bolter sisters were that good. Skanwy
Fantastic idea Blaze! And really well thought out as well! Its a great way to try out other armies and have great fluff at the same time -_- Just an issue i faced with proxying the wave serpent as the shape is quite distinctive and could be difficult to replicate in a similar transport model. Look forward to see your army pics when they are ready man. Cheers! Blaze
Not to bring a thread back from the dead, but I was wondering is anyone had any good ideas for a rogue trader's elite crew. I'm thinking about a counts as harlequin squad as a rogue trader and augmented body guards. For the rogue trader himself I want to use kal jerico from necromunda as the model, with power sword and pistol. I have infernus pistols to use as fusion pistols, but I don't know what models I could use to base the actual troopers on, any ideas? Inquisitor Fox
As a friendly reminder (no one has crossed the line yet, so it's all good) we need to keep this particular thread in the realm of modelling discussion only, as since it would be technically an Eldar list (albeit Inquisitorially themed) we can't discuss exact units. However, in terms of a neat project and modelling opportunity I am highly in favor of it <_< Sooo.. please keep it to just models and painting. Carry on ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199344-counts-as-inquisition-eldar/#findComment-2386417 Share on other sites
