Blood Saints

BLACK BLΠFLY

Recommended Posts

I figured out what's bugging me. It's that loin-cloth. A white loin-cloth against white armor makes it all look very "I forgot to paint the rest." Ditch it or throw a splash of color onto it—perhaps a red stripe against the white cloth to compliment the white stripe on the red helmet? The shoulder trim could benefit from some attention, too—I recommend the same bone color you're using on the eagle. That will keep the total number of colors used to a tasteful minimum, whilst still making the marine look less bland.

Of course, this is all just my opinion, but you did ask. :)

I would like to make to recomendations. The first and what I feel is the most important is to change the colour of the cloth to red to help add defenition to the model. Secondly have you thought about a bone white armour scheme instead of plain white?

Hmm the Sanguinary Guard look like normal marine's with more "Bling", which I guess you can do for sure its your army but I think they should be something different than the normal Troops.

But that's just me you can spend your $$ anyway you like i'm sure once we see some testor mini's done it will be different.

I feel it's a bit too monochrome. It doesn't need much, but I feel like another couple of accents are needed. Maybe red trims, just something to break up the white in some more places.

Not too sure how well a stripe will fit on SGs....

And further, I'm sure if you use the BA bitz you'll have lots of accented details to bring out stuff (all those awesome gems and things)

What color are you gunna do the wings on everyone? White would be a bit much.

I am not sure about the wings as yet. Obviously not white. I have shaded the jump packs grey in the pictures of the assault Marine & Sanguinary Guard for a simple shadow effect. The jump packs will be painted stark white to directly tie in with the power armor... Too much red & I think they will start to look too much like civilized versions of the White Scars. I am thinking light grey wings or bone white might work & provide some better definition.

As I said the Death Company will have the traditional appearance except they will have a red stripe running down their helmets. I am planning to use Astorath to lead the Death Company & he too will have deep black artificed armor to tie in. The Furioso Librarian will have stark white plated armor with a blue helmet to denote his rank. The Death Company dreadnaught will have deep black plated armor. I will be using the Venerable dreadnaught model from Forgeworld for both of my walkers. I am planning to use the limited edition Vanguard veteran sergeant (slightly converted) to represent the Sanguinary Priest, he will have the classic blood red armor to denote his rank... Might mount wings on his back, not sure yet though. One Stormraven (Omega Sword) will have a deep black chassis & wings while the other Stormraven (Alpha Sword) will have a stark white chassis & wings. Omega Sword carries Astorath, DC Marines & the DC dreadnaught while Alpha Sword will carry the priest, Sanguinary Guard & the Furioso Librarian. There will be two full squads of assault Marines with jump packs. That is pretty much the build for this army @ 1850 points.

Thanks for all the feedback! :)
