Grimtooth
I think I am thick on the paint, and missed a mold line on the front haft of the axehead. Anyone have any hints for eyes and my disaster of a tattoo to symbolize a MoW Grey Hunter? http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s89/Grimtooth_photos/MoW1.jpg Thanks for comments and crits. This was my initial test model with quick shade. Did not shake it anywhere as hard as I needed after dipping. Way more shaking then back in the day floor wax finishing: http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s89/Grimtooth_photos/GHtestmodel.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199684-new-mow-for-my-army/#findComment-2378332 Share on other sites
Night Runner
It's not looking bad, but did you know what design you wanted before you started painting? usually, if you draw the design first, and try painting it on a piece of paper it helps. Also if you are painting the tattoo red use a white base first or mechrite red foundation paint. It will help with red's translucency. You also need to tidy up the tattoo with the flesh colour you used - like tapering the ends of the tattoo. W.r.t. eyes, I first paint in the whites, with a very very light grey. I find that pure white tends to give a slightly pop-eye effect. Then I outline the eye with thinned down paint- just enough to give a smooth flow. Tidy up with the light grey if needed and place in the dots for the irises. Note that if your right handed do the left eye first and vice-versa. This will help prevent the cross-eyed effect. Give it another shot and post more pics. I am sure you will manage fine.
