Deathwatch Kill Team true scale

So I just had to try my hand at converting some true scale marines - and what better subjects than a 200pt kill team based on an Ordo Xenos Deathwatch team.

My entire team will be (using rules from C:SM Sternguard Vets):

Space Wolf Sargent with lightning claw and bolter

Dark Angel with plasma gun

Blood Raven with heavy bolter

White Scar with combi-melta

Black Templar with combi-flamer

Ultramarine with combi-plasma

I've finished half the team so far (the Ultramarine, White Scar, and Dark Angel):

And what battlefield are they fighting on that has tyranids & chaos marines? Just wondering, normally Deathwatch have less to do with hunting chaos.

But awesome none the less.

Heh, I was waiting for someone to mention this. The chaos marine is there for 2 reasons:

1) As DW are mostly black and the bases are grey, I wanted to add as much color as possible.

2) I really like any opportunity to paint other armies' color schemes - and if I ever did a CSM army I think it would be word bearers.

As for what battlefield - meh, it's so easy to make up fluff for 40k (I mean, look at the original Dawn of War games...) and while I admit a chaos marine would hardly be the focus of the ordo xenos, I don't think they'd pass on the opportunity to kill some traitors given the chance.

I agree with the skinny point, which pattern did you use to make them?

Other than that, i really like the paint job. I must do my own some time.

Huh, it's weird that some think they look skinny; Personally I don't, but I'll take it under advisement for the next ones I do ... perhaps it's the running pose of the white scar? I used this method and followed it to a T: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=31681

Here's a question... do you think I should add blood stains under the word bearer's helmet?

It mainly shows on the last picture, of the guy walking forward. His legs appear to be too thin compared to the rest of his body

Simple answer; yes. It'll give it abit more effect :D I like what's done but I'll have to agree with everyone else. And I can knida explain why. Most true-scale conversions use terminator parts heavily in order to achieve the larger size. So terminator legs and arms, with a marin body extended and GS'd into shape. Course yours have used regular marine parts.

I really like the "skinny" look myself, it makes them look like lithe, dangerous warriors rather than big, slow slabs of muscle.

I am also absolutely in love with that White Scar, and I keep looking at the Ultramarine and imagining him poking a 'nid in the eye.
