Hi wolves! First at all my apologizes for my english cause its not my main language.

My question is: If a SW with MotW has and in its gear: frag, krak and melta bomb. CAn i use the krak or meltabomb in any attack or get benefits from frag grenades assaulting? or always i may use the MotW rending attacks?

Example: WG with MotW and meltabombs, doing a victory or death attack, can i use the melta bomb or a rending attack?

Thanks for answering.

Well I'd say no to the Krak & Meltas, but yes on using frags during an assault.

Frags don't count as a special attack, their just an ability gained by having them equipped, whereas the Krak and Melta grenades are a special attack gained by having those items equipped.

Yes to the frag grenades in assaulting for MoW. The rule for assault grenades only specifies that the model be equipped to use them.

No on melta/krak for a model with MoW. It specifies that they must be clamped on or placed via an attack which MoW overrides.

I never really thought about it before, I had assumed that they could use Meltabombs and just forgo the D6+1 base attacks, as I would have thought that this upgrade just replaced the models base attack with a different one.

I used a Lone Wolf Army in Apocalypse which had 16 MoTW with Rending, x2 Fen Wolves and Meltabombs. I didn't gain any advantage for having the Meltabombs in the game, mind.
