Doomaflatchi
I'm considering picking up some Daemonhosts to field a Radical force for fun, but I had a question about the models. Games Workshop, in a fit of their classic insanity, only makes two Daemonhost models, despite the fact that you can field three. So, I went looking around the web for some conversion ideas for a third, and ran across this beauty. However, the model is listed as being 54mm high and mounted on a 40mm base. Now, I should be able to fit him on a standard Daemonhost 24mm base with no problem. My question is: how tall are the other Daemonhost models? I don't own them yet, and I want to know if this Cherubael model would be too tall and look out of place, or if he would stand on a comparable height with the others. Can anyone who own the original models measure them and tell me how high they stand? Does anyone have any input or experience on using this model? Thanks for the help! :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199912-question-about-the-daemonhost-models/ Share on other sites

spafe
the 54mm model is taller than a dread, the normal range are maybe a marine and a 3rd, I'm sure you could do this, and heck even make it look mighty impressive, but in general I would say the scales are too far off, although the 54mm guy does make a nice base for a greater deamon of tzeentch (not that i'm promoting choas at all...) Sorry fella, nice idea but wouldn't sat it would work. Check out the possessed or scavies, from gw's specilist games mordheim and necromunda respectivly, might find something good there. hope it helps, Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199912-question-about-the-daemonhost-models/#findComment-2381613 Share on other sites
Brother_Kaelgrim
Well Cherubael is a very powerful daemonhost. Who says he can't indulge in a bit of size increasing to spread terror at Eisenhorn's behest? I wouldn't mind playing against such a model, in fact, I would love to as that model is quite cool and I'm a big Abnett fan ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/199912-question-about-the-daemonhost-models/#findComment-2381629 Share on other sites
Piousservant
Cherubael is an awesome model. However it is totally the wrong scale for 40k, unfortunately. Cherubael is a model from the Inquisitor (the Game) range and is 54mm scale, whilst 40k is 28mm heroic. He'd be bigger than a dreadnought -he's probably of similar height to the Greater Daemons (though not as bulky) and it just wouldn't look right IMO. I'm not a fan of two 40k Daemonhosts that GW did anyway. I've yet to find a decent 40k-size model to use as a Daemonhost. I did try converting some out of zombie and empire bits before but wasn't happy with the results. So I have to admit I'd also appreciate some different models to use as well. boreas
If I where to do that, I'd use the new Spawn of Chaos set combined with Empire Flagellant (from WFB).... Not sure how compatible they are, but hey, possession explains a lot of things! Validar
if any of you guys have an alternative way of making demonhosts or a site that sells something that could go as a demonhost, please post it!
