Hey guys. I'm more of a painter/collector than a gamer, and i've always fancied having a full and complete chapter of Space Marines. I've tried it before, and unfortunately due to real life stuff, never actually managed to do it. But this time, Emperor willing, I can get it done! So this will be my main project, a full Blood Angels chapter, as is laid out in Codex: Blood Angels. This blog will also include my vow for the Call of the Imperium IV as well. First up though, is what i'm working on at the moment - The Sanguinor! Need to get him done today as i'm entering him into my local GW shops painting competition, and the deadline is tomorrow :S. I'm painting him in two seperate stages, so at the moment i'm currently working on the backpack, once thats done i'll move onto the Sanguinor himself.

At this stage, i've just finished a bit of a shading wash on the wings, and done two layers of gold on the armour. Unfortunately, due to the camera i've got access to, I can't go any further in with the pics, as when I do they just come out really blurry.

Ok, so unfortunately i've ran out of time to get the Sanguinor finished in time for the painting comp deadline, but I did manage to get the gold sections on the backpack finished, and i'm almost finished 1 wing, just got another couple of highlights to put on it. I'll try and get pics up later after I come back from the GW store to get my GD tickets and some non PA related stuff :)

I've still got to prime the Baal Predator, but theres a couple of icons I want to add first. I'm going to paint it all in separate pieces, and want to fully paint the interior as well. Will try and get Lemartes started at some point today, although I do have 1 other non PA related model to paint up for an instore game on Saturday. I've also left the backpacks and weapons off the Death Company as I want to paint all those separate as well - I know everyone says "You can't see it" but i'm the kind of painter that I know if i've missed a bit, and i'm never happy if I have! The Death Company will all have jetpacks, along with some other weapons, (Thunder hammer, Infernus pistol etc). I've also still got to drill the holes in Lemartes's bolt pistol, and in the Angelus Boltguns of the Sanguinary Guard. I've also got A Land Speeder that i'm thinking of turning into a Tempest, and a 5 man squad of Assault Marines made from nothing but Death Company bits. I'll also get a better picture of my Sanguinor posted up later today as well.

 

Not much to C&C, I know, but i'll crack on with painting as soon as I can :tu:

Hey Guys. Back again. Ok, so, due to some personal stuff going on, I had to pull out of the COI. I didn't have much chance to get any painting done until just recently. I've tried changing my primer with this guy, and so far its working a little bit better than the GW primers. This is my first attempt at painting Blood Angels - in fact its the first time i've painted red! Onyhoo, onto the pics:-

So far all thats completed is the red parts of the armour. I tried to paint the face the way it is in one of the White Dwarf articles but it didn't come out right so that needs to be redone as well. I'm best man at my best mate's wedding this week so not sure how much painting I can get done, but once I get some more done i'll add more PiP pics.

Since I got home, i've reprimed my Scout squad and built a Sniper Scout squad as well. Started working on the normal Scout Sergeant with Power Fist and Plasma Pistol, and managed to paint the blonde hair on him. This is the first time i've done blonde hair on a model, and i'd really love some C&C on it if possible please guys.

Ok, so for my LPC Challenge I have said i'll do one unit of Blood Angels Assault Terminators, one unit of Sanguinary Guard, and one unit of scouts with sniper rifles. So far i've managed to build my sanguinary guard and sniper scouts. Will be working on the termies first as i'm also using them for a diorama for my local shop competition. Pics to follow when I get home.
