Its been a long time since i wanted to do another army then my World Eaters Legion. I thought of it through and hard and finnaly decided to pu togheter an army that as the same play styles as a White scars army(thus leaded by Kor'sarro Khan). I got inspired by various things:the events of the Horus Heresy et more particully the Istvaan Massacre,a bit of WoW Death Knights and even some Berserk stuffs. The story short is that they where a bunch of survivors from the different Legions on Istvaan,only the ones who had the time to run to a secure place enough deep in the maze of tunnels and catacombs underneath the plaents surface. After the orbital strikes ceased and the cataclysmic fire storm went out,they managed to find some ships and a Thunderhawk who din't suffer much of the bombing. They have sworn to dedicate there lives to revenge,and they shall wash there honnour in the blood of there former brethrens. They are in a Hunt that nows long for 10.000 years,they Hunt down every single CSM and strikes with speed and relenless fury into the heart of the most dreaded foe of Humanity. A tutorial on the dread would be awesome, i've wanted to do a similar thing with my space wolves dreads (massive axes and shields) but that didn't turn out too well. Once again great job. Cheers. Slayer le Boucher Posted May 2, 2010 Author Share Posted May 2, 2010 Thanks guys ^^ Hjaertrr> well the Dread legs arn't that complicated to do. http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/9034/img0903qi.th.jpg Like you can see on this pic i simply cut the lower part of the Dread legs,where you are supposed to glue the foots. Then i cut the sentinel upper legs so that i only have the lowest half where the holes are located. I glued those on the Dread legs. I even cut clean one of the Hipe/Leg junction to move it a bit forward,this way i can easly control the final position of the legs. You can do that by for exemple you glue this part back on the hipe but the highest possible,that it is nearly horizontal,this way you can put a rock or a wrecked vehicle or something else on the base and make so that your dread look like stepping on it. For the rest you only have to mount and adjust the rest of the sentinel leg parts the way you want. I personnaly cut all the toes of the Sentinel foot,this way it fitted nicely into the dread foots,this way you have way bigger looking foots for your Dread. The remaining toes of the Sentinel feet i put them on the three first toes of the Dread foots,this way it give's a more larger and stable look to the foots. http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/4354/img0917u.th.jpg If you look closely at the Dread feets in the back of this pic you'll see what i mean. For axes all i can give is this: http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/5430/img0681fx5.th.jpg Its the Axe of one of my 5 Bloodthirsters. I simply cut a plasticard sheet and give a rhough form with my clipper. I then even the edges with a large scrapfiller in the whole length so that it stay even on all the length of the edge. I also used my clipper to make cuts in it and give it a "teeth" or "saw" look. Its one of the simpliest and yet most accurate axe you can make without been a great sculpting artist. Its easier to keep a simple design,and then had detailes on the blade like i did with the Axe or my Dread Knight blade. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

By the look of it,those two arn't saying sweet things to each other... The blade that this Sergent wear is one of the Army "Dark Blades",those 2 handed Blades are obviously a tribut to Gutts Dragon Slayer Blade(Berserk),they count as Power gloves,the ones that i'm gonna make on my Assault Termies will count as Thunder hammers AND Stormshield:because they are skilled enougth with those blades that they can use them to deflect and parry incoming shoots/strikes (juste like our Gutts buddy in Berserk where he deflect a cannon ball by angling his blade) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But i think i will take it slowly this way i will get enougth time to paint everything. I've recently cleaned about fifty old Marines of mine of their mold lines, so I'm a bit more sensitive on them now. When I look at your pictures, I can hardly take in any detail because all I see are those mold lines, aargh ^^ Seriously, though.
