Like everyone it seems I decided to build a storm raven

 

Started trying to build one form a Valkyrie. Decided it looked like I didn't kow how to build a valkyrie, so tried again based around a Landraider.

 

This time it looks like a landraider with wiongs, but at least it doesn't make me look like I can't read instructions.

I still need to do some detail work on the flat areas and green stuff the gaps around the engines. And I am still not sure on the wings, if they need to be swapped around.

Erm. I really would have tried harder to break up the shape of the Land Raider. I mean I know that the Stormraven is referred to as "a flying Land Raider", but I think to take that literally is a mistake. I hate to say it, but that conversion doesn't work.

I know it looks like a flying raider, but ,my skill are not enough to make it look otherwise. My second gen should be better, now I know how the bits fit together. So the next generation will look less land raiderish.

 

As for the dark pink Reaver. My main force in both 40K and fantasy is Slaaneshi. So I have a slaaneshi marine army, a Slaaneshi guard army, a slaaneshi super heavy tanl company and a slaaneshi reaver (and I am slowly building a slaanshi warlord).

P.S one of my friends looked at the first picture and saw a face (engines are the eyes) and she said "it's staring into my soul!"

so... it at least covers the basis of scare tactics

I agree with the eye comment, I didn't see it at first but when I scrolled up to look again I got unnerved and closed the page.

 

Back on topic I think its a good conversion, a little on the bulky side but it works well. I think you've done a good job there.

The only thing that make it really doesn't feel right is where you put the cockpit.

 

And also that there's a whole gap under the cockpit nose and the raider.

 

For the rest it is good,simple yet effectif.

Seriously I don't mind the 'raider-with-wings version, but I would advice you to re-do the cockpit. Probably just fill in the gap between the cockpit and the top of the hatch. You'd only have the lower part left to open, but then again that's all you need.

I don't like it. It just looks like a land raider with wings. I think you should pull it apart and start again, using more Valkyrie components this time round. See other Storm Raven conversions for idea.s

It looks good, but i'd suggest joining the cockpit of the valkyrie to the land raider. I don't like how is hangs over it

another vote for liking it, BUT, join the cockpit to the hull of the tank, or it just looks like its gonna drop in and dissappear, like a mini thunderhawk transporter

I am filling the hole under the cockpit (need more green stuff) and the gaps around the engines.

 

 

Brother Martemis you have made me want to make a thunderhawk transporter from a valk to carry the landraiders into battle. A marine version of a Sky Talon.

Been working on the thunder brick a bit today. Green stuffed most of the holes and added some more icons.

 

I need to wait for the GS to dry before I finish GSing the holes in the engines.
