Requiem of the Wolf
I want to know how much leeway Wolf lords have as far as Armor colors and decorations. Reason I ask is I want to paint my wolves in a much darker grey then the codex shows, And I spent a good amount of time making a bind rune for a company symbol instead of one of the established ones, because it would be far easier to paint on and would help make my wolves distinct. But I don't want to deviate from the spirit of the chapter but I have not found any info on successive foundings for the wolves other then possibly the red wolves so didn't want to go that route. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated for this young pup. Hjaertrr
Its perfectly acceptable especially with the pre-heresy looking dark grey. Mine for example are painted as such and think they look far better than the 'baby smurf' approach GW uses. I'm sure if a wolf lord wanted to go to battle wearer bright pink no one would have the balls to argue with him. Cheers. That being said there is no issue with colours for your wolves. Hjaertrr
Main colours: Grey-blue (pre-heresy, Grey) From lexicanum, though if its pre-heresy it'll have been the colour scheme used during the heresy, changed afterwards, so we're both correct. stinkenheim
us wolves are probably the most easy going group when it comes to colour schemes. its entirely your own choice, so long as the model is recognisably a space wolf then go nuts. i paint mine a dark blue/grey, several on here paint them codex/adeptus battlegrey for a pre-heresy look and many paint it baby blue like the codex. if you find a colour scheme you lik then stick with it. Requiem of the Wolf
What about using a Bind rune (3 different runes combined into one whole) for the chapter symbol? would that work? figure I might as well use my knowledge of the Norse to good use lol. Hjaertrr
That would be fine, and i'm sure it would look good too. None of my models actually have a great company marking yet as I can't decide on one.
