I saw one of the other Ultra collectors had added storm shields and they looked great so I thought I'd give it a go. Ive just scored 20 painted marines off ebay that includes 2 assult squads (plenty of running legs) and a DA Command squad. Ive started work with some of the legs and torsos. Heres where we are so far. Ive stripped all the iconography off and replaced it with Ultra/generic icons. Im wondering if I should do these as Veterens (models only not for game use) and if so what colour do I do the robes? Deep red, purple, clean white or cream?? Let me know your colour choice considering he has blue armour. Thanks for the comments For the red Khemi Brown foundation undercoat a couple of coats of thinned blood red. This will now look really bright. Wash with Badab black thin coat of blood red on the large areas Wet blend highlight up to pure blazing orange with various blood red / blazing orange mixes. If it was a bigger area Id give it a watered down red/black ink wash This all came because when I took up painting again after a 10 year break I onlyhad a few colours. Now I have about 4 reds i still do the same as it comes out so well! Has anyone got any opinions on the robe colour?
