Requiem of the Wolf
Well brothers, today is the day. I am finally fielding my Wolves. I spent 11 years not playing, and then when a game store opened close enough I could walk to it,I ended up borrowing a friends army and playing the chaos filth (no offense chaos players) to learn 5th ed. Its a local tournament, but still something I want to do well in. Using 2 packs of Greyhunters with WG leaders, one filling a razorback and one filling a rhino. a pack of scouts and a pack of Long Fangs with rocket launchers. For an HQ I decided to use a Wolf Priest. the twist is Im also running a Inquisitor Lord and a Vindicare as an extra little suprise. Fluff-wise the Inquisitor is a native Fenrisian, and the great-great grandson of the Wolf lord of the Great Company I am using. The vindicare is just following orders lol. On the menu is the possibility of Orks,Sisters,Eldar,Blood Angels,Tyrannids and Necrons. If I win,Ale for everyone in the Fang. If I lose then I wont be alive to help you drink it so you can buy your own damn ale *chuckles* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200390-a-return-to-battle/ Share on other sites

Requiem of the Wolf
Well in two games I beat the Necron player and then faced a fellow space wolf player. We fought al most to a standstill. He won on kp because I had way more points on the board then him. He was using Grimnir and 4 lascannon with droppod along with two 3 man WG bike squad supported by a vindicator. I'm not normally one to call anothers army cheesy, but this guy almost allways uses them. Anyways it's a double elim so I'm not out yet. Came home and found my comp had overheated so typed this on my phone. Any wise longfangs have some advice for this pup? I used a rhino and razorback, and both endured amazing Amounts of punishment. My razor took a total of 12 lascannon hits and survived. Finally Grmnir killed it in HtH. Scouts did horribly,ML longfangs killed a necron lord,8 necrons and then killed a scarab swarm in HtH. The cheesy player seems to be the one I always get in these tourneys too. Any advice for him would be good. I'm guessing this is your list from what you have posted: 5xGH + WG + Razorback (any weapons or upgrades???) 9xGH + WG + Rhino (any weapons or upgrades???) ?xScouts +WG#3? (any weapons or upgrades???) ?xLF with ?-1 ML WP (any weapons or upgrades???) Inquisitor Lord (any weapons or upgrades???) Vindicare assassin (any weapons or upgrades???) ???? Requiem of the Wolf
1000 pt army. Wolf priest was stock, 8 GH with Meltagun,Mark fo the wulfen and a WG with combi melta and wolfclaw in a rhino 5 gh with mark, melta and wg with combi melta and power fist in razor 5 scouts,4 sniper 1 hb, with mark of the wulfen and a WG with mark, combi melta inquisitor had psychic hood and psycannon,2 mystics to let me or another unit within 12 take potshots at deepstriking units within 4d6 and a acolyte to soak a wound vindicare is stock and cant be changed. 6 long fangs with 5 missile launchers. Ive allready decided to do some switching around and promoting the major use of plasma pistols in the scouts, grey hunters and wolf guard since those can do decent for popping most tanks if i hit from behind and will do nasty things to troops i assault. Mainly I was hoping for advice in dealing with someone playing SW and doing it as cheesy as the rules will allow and sometimes a bit more if he can get away with it,in a local tournament situation. Im sorely tempted to find the cheesiest thing I can do just to beat this guy. Because its inevitable that I will draw him in either the first or second round of every tournament i play here. yes the mystics were supposed to do that, unfortunately the drop pod landed too far away because he knew about that trick = ( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200390-a-return-to-battle/#findComment-2388313 Share on other sites
