Pedro Cantor Imperial Fist Style/Quickshade based

Hello. I painted a Pedro Cantor for my Imperial Fists army. I used the Sicarius plumed helmet to make it look a little different. I like how it turned out.

I used the same approach as with my Venerable Dreadnought:

I seem not to be able to properly photograph yellow. ^^ He looks better in real life. And I fumbled a little with the matte varnish. It was a little much and misted the black a little too strong. I thought that the Vallejo matte from the can was waterbased but it was not as receptive to watering down as I hoped. It developed some ugly white spots in places. I noticed on the photos that there some places I missed in repairing. I will do so next weekend. Still, I like how he turned out and I hope you enjoy as well:

And two wip just before the application of the Quickshade:

Looks outstanding! Given my limited time to paint these days, this Quickshade stuff might be what I need to pop out some very nice rank & file. Just one more question: I realise it's not meant to be painted over, but could you paint over it if you wanted to (with GW paints)?

as far as I seen it can be painted over and touched up.

but as the quickshade 8the ones I seen) often are a bit gloss it might look weird if you don't matt coat the whole model as it would be mixed between gloss and matt.

Whenever I've used Quickshade in the past, I've base coated, quickshaded, then gone back over with regular highlights, then used the antishine matt varnish. Worked out well so far.

Anyone got any examples of Blood Angels done with Quickshade (in red I mean, not the gold)?

Thank`s all. :)

When I put him together it was with the usual helmet first. This looked too bland besides my ohter miniatures and the Sicariushelmet addressed that perfectly without being over the top. I am glad you like it.

Painting over the Shade should be possible, I read of several people doing that.

Some trial Blood Angel minis done with Quickshade:

The white highlights on one of them are more grainy than they normally would be. I just rushed it with the basecoat (Armypainter) and it turned out rough.
