I decided to start using the Max-Mini shoulders and you know what.

There are shoulderpads that work very well for the 1st captain.

I hope they make some new batches soon especially the one with the straps

The other 4 Justaerin will be in the classic straps for the most part.

I would like to do 5 close combat and 5 with ranged.

Remember when you paint him that the Luna Wolves / Sons of Horus Termies wore black armour.... A lot of people screw that up and paint it white.... which is WRONG.

Actually color depends on which fluff you use.

1)Luna wolves wore white.

2)Sons of horus wore some shade of green.

3)Black Legion as they are now wears Black.

4) If for any reason someone feels it should be different then they should go with it and have fun so long as they can either justify it fluff wise or acknowladge it aint accepted cannon.

My reference is page 21 of The Horus Heresy collected visions

Your right of course I misread the post above me. Not all the tactical drednaught armour of the legion were Black though though just the Justaerin. I remember that bit now from the books. However the option to paint it however looks the best is still my favorite even if its less fluffy.

In the hope of making my first post useful, some pertinent quotes:

Horus Rising, page 22:

Loken magnified his view, resolving hundreds of

white-armoured figures pouring through the smoke and

chop-fire. At the front of them, the dark figures of First Company’s

foremost Terminator squad, the Justaerin. They wore polished

black armour, dark as night, as if they belonged to some

other, black Legion.

Horus Rising, page 360:

The Astartes formed two unwavering

blocks of white figures, rigid and still, their front rows

a glossy black line of Justaerin Terminators.

Galaxy In Flames, page 60:

Abaddon and Aximand stood to

one side. Both warriors were armoured, Abaddon in the glossy

black of the Justaerin, Aximand in his pale green plate.

Emphases mine.

That they do look so much better than dred shins, and dred shins look damn good too mind you.

But here he is basecoated

Its pretty simple the First Compagny of the Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus wears black armour the rest white/green.

Anyway nice looking model Im building a Horus with the same eye on his chest and the part with the wire looks really good mind if I steal it ;)

Here are some pics of the progress(I know they need topknots :) )
