AFoolProofPlan
Herro. It's been a while since I've posted here despite lurking here all the time for inspirations. So, I've set out to paint He'stan - 100% Cap'n - 100% Command Squad Dreadnought - 100% 5 Sternguards Drop Pod 5 Assault Termies - 100% Land Raider 2 x 10 Tactical squads with rhinos - 100% 5 Scouts - Lost all the left arms... Predator - 100% I've finished about half of them, and hopefully I'll get around to uploading them soon. Anyhoo, here are the pics, and tell me what you think. 2nd Company Cap'n http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/Capn-1.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/Capn-Front.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/CapnSide.jpg 1st Tactical Squad and Rhino http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/1stTacticalSquad.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/1stSergent.jpg 3rd Tactical Squad and Rhino http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/3rdTacticalSquad.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/3rdSergent.jpg Old Timer http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/OldTimer-Front.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/OldTimer-Side.jpg Assault Terminators http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/AssaultTerminators.jpg I'm not to thrilled about how these guys turned out...except for this guy http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee281/AFoolProofPlan/40K/Salamanders%20Project/A-ok.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200626-fools-sallies/ Share on other sites
ephrael
I like the captain conversion. What parts did you use for him? I especially like the torso and knee pads. Are they plasticard or something else? Do you have any WIP pics of him? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200626-fools-sallies/#findComment-2389972 Share on other sites
turelhim vampire
Those are some nice Salamanders. What green have you used there, it seems darker than Snot green? I do like the captain, nice and threatening. Do you count him as Vulkan, or do you take him as well? AFoolProofPlan
Thanks man Unfortunately, I don't have any WIP pic of him, it's been a while since I've put him together. But I can tell you he's mostly terminator parts. Front half of the torso is terminator, and back half is tactical. I lengthen the whole thing with green stuff, and filed off the eagle on the chest, and made the little salamander head. I chopped off the neck guard thing on the back half of a tactical marine armor and stuck it on this one to make a front neck guard. I think his beating stick is only thing made from plastic card. Right knee pad is just cut up plastic part from terminator box. That little thingie that goes on the termie's shoulder. It just might be the lighting I think. It's just the usual formula. Ork hide, snot green, and thakra wash I have another model for Vulkan, just couldn't get around to taking pic of him today. Day light ran out on me and got too dark to get any good pics. sgtNACHO
Great modeling, and in general the painting is very good. The paint is a little thick in some areas though. Water it down or just use less. Even if you did nothing though, I still think its a great batch of guys your rocking here Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200626-fools-sallies/#findComment-2391029 Share on other sites

That is some very good work putting all those bits together and making it look as though it was originally sculpted that way. Would you mind if I tried a similar conversion for my Pre-Heresey True Scale Dark Angels? Your true scale tutorials were big inspiration for me. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200626-fools-sallies/#findComment-2391861 Share on other sites
