Grimtooth
Having never used him, I just noticed he does not have Headstrong or Berserk Charge when reading my codex earlier for fun. Now Berserk Charge is not a big deal since he has base 3 attacks, which on the charge makes him even with a normal Blood Claw. But I got to thinking about Headstrong and how his lack of it might affect the rest of the Blood Claws. So, if they are required to charge if within 6" of an enemy model and Lukas is not, could he refuse to charge, be considered the slowest model in the unit, and thus force the rest of the Blood Claw pack not to charge because they have to move as slow as the slowest model? Hfran Morkai
No, because he is infantry and doesn't have the Slow and Purposeful rule so he moves at the same speed, he's also neither Wolf Guard nor IC so he and the pack still need to charge. Plus fluffwise it doesn't make much sense, he'd want to go toe to toe with someone Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/200636-lukas-the-trickster/#findComment-2389969 Share on other sites

Lukas refusing to assault, would make him the slowest moving model in the unit and thus the unit would be compelled to move at his speed. Fluffwise the whole pack is going to want to get in it. But it stands to reason that if you have Lukas, who tends to do things his way despite authority, he could make a unit of Blood Claws not charge. Grimtooth
In another discussion it was brought up that units as a whole declare assaults, not individuals. So Lukas could not declare he was not assaulting to prevent the unit from assault. I was thinking of how plasma gunners could decide not to fire their rapid fire weapons to allow the unit to fire would also apply to assault as well. You assault with units not with models. Lukas can be as slow as he wants to- the unit of bloodclaws will be forced to declare the assault and move, and he is a part of that unit, like it or not. Its to bad about the wording too... I liked being able to fire off a plasmarifle to stave off an assault if need be.
