Witch Hunters Help?

Hay There,

I've just started playing the game and I picked Witch Hunters as my army,

and I am finding getting an army together quite hard, as getting hold of them is not easy,

does anyone have any alternatives into fleshing out my army, as I was thinking of allying in Blood Angels?

because to get a full army of battle sisiters I have to buy 3 at time at £9.00!

I so far have;

7 sisters of battle

5 seriphims

1 Immolator

and I just bought 5 Blood Angel combat squad.

any help?

cheers,

Berti

welcome

first of; get an HQ, a canones is chearfull, but a inqisitor (and his henchmen) more effective

also try to get an assasin, and a second squad of sisters, there always a good investment

as for the vampire-friends, you can only use them if you use them as your primary force, with sisters as ally, not vice-versa

but you can use the normal space marines dex to represent them as allies, though

You could always try looking up some smaller retail sites. I know a couple of Swedish sites that have the 10x sister box. The UK should have some equivalent.

This is for getting hold on more sisters.

I'm sorry to say that I'm fairly sure that you can't ally space marines into your witch hunter army if you have adepta sororitas in it, and vice versa. I'm not sure how it works with space marines as the primary force.

Cheers!

Unfortunately a Witch Hunters army can not field Sisters and Space Marines in the same list, and cannot use variant Marines (like Blood Angles) at all. Loyalist Space Marines of any type can, as WarInHeaven mentioned, take Sisters as allies in their armies though. If you want to use Blood Angels and Sisters together, you will have to play Blood Angels and then ally in the Sisters as per the rules on page 25 of the codex.

To be honest, this probably is not the best time to start building a Sisters list; the codex is a lot harder to get and you can't buy them in bulk any more. You would probably be better off waiting until the new Sisters codex comes out.

I agree with Chengar, go with the Blood Angels and ally in a few squads of Sisters. The Angels have just been re-vamped and have an awesome new codex with a wide range of new models. There are rumours floating around (arnt there always!) of the Witch Hunters and Deamonhunters getting a restoration in the next 2 years, about 6-7 years late really lol!

If it were me playing id just ally the sisters to the Angels and im pretty sure a BA army can have an Inquisitor as its HQ? forgive me if im wrong

You'd have to take an HQ from the BA codex first, then you can add the Inquisitor as a second HQ choice.

The nice thing about what you have listed is it fits in perfectly to ally into a SM army. The allyinf rules prohibit you from taking SM in a WH list with units having the Adeptas Sororitas special rule (SoB).

I would grab your favorite BA HQ and get 2 troops squads of BA. This gives you the minimum for the BA. Then I would get a Canoness as has been suggested and put her in an Immolator with a Celestian Retinue (you have 7 SoB which is only a few too many for the retinue). Maybe grab another box of SoB from the internets and another Immo and take some Celestians as Elites and then you can use your Seraphim as Fast Attack. Grab 2x Flamers/Inferno Pistols to go with them and you have a pretty diverse starting army with aspects of both SM and SoB.

Things I would avoid right now given the state of flux are - excessive SoB (they will probably be in plastic eventually), Inquisitors, Inquisitorial Storm Troopers and other 'freak show' units like Arcos and Penitents which are bad and also likely to see some changes. A standard Bolter wielding SoB (or Melta, FLamer, H Flamer) will very likely be around and you can use the BA you have to eventually flesh out a Marine army since it is likely allying will be gone/changed with the next dex.

Sisters of Battle and Blood angels work very well if Blood Angels are the parent list.

Sisters love the idea of feel no pain and furious charge, without losing faith abilities for having a non-faithful person in the squad.

The blood angels get cheap, very effective bolter fire, and the Sisters get some good assault troops.
