Termintors in Drop Pods

Aye, TDA only prevents models embarking upon Rhinos and Razorbacks, with other vehicles they take up two spaces. Drop Pods are listed as dedicated transports for WG packs meaning Terminators can use Drop Pods. It's to make up for our guys apparently not liking the whole idea of teleporters, they'd much rather be thrown out of a ship at stupidly high speeds.

The 2nd ed codex explained it. It's so that they can go "Whee!" with their arms in the air on the way down. You can't do *that* with a Teleporter.

I do love the idea of them enjoying the ride. That and in the Ragnar series about painting battlle scenes on the inside of the pods. Allows them to have a good singalong and a barrel of ale before deployment I suppose.

(My second ed codex is on the way hopefully)

In the Space Wolves Codex there is a flavor text quote from one wolf guard to another as they are rocketing through the air in a drop pod "Don't get shot Ranulf! It would be just like you to get killed just to get out of paying me those two kegs of ale I won from you!"

In the new Codex it describes "Within the spartan confines of each drop pod is a battle-ready squad of Space Wolves, voices joined in boisterous and often obscene song as each envisages the carnage he is about to unleash"

For another example, watch the movie "Aliens" where the tank gets dropped onto the surface of the planet and the behavior of the Marines in the back. I believe Hudson summed it up best "Express elevator to Hell,Going down!"

Lol, this reminds me of when I was in basic training. We'd sing to pass the time while we rode in the cattle-cars...good times...

We were stuffed in the cattle cars so tight we didn't have air for singing. Besides...that was practically the only chance you got for sleep lol.

Ahhh the cattle car days, I remember them well. But as far as sleep you guys know that you will get as much sleep as you will ever need when you are dead. ;)

Lol even after 10 years I still can't help myself but all asleep the moment I am in a vehicle I'm not driving for more then 5 minutes lol.
