Las Plasma Razorback

Recommended Posts

Hi quick question, I am gearing up for ard boy's and finally building a few razorbacks. While I know the Lasacannon is turret mounted on the Rhino chassis where are the plasma gun/guns mounted? I believe in the fluff it says sponson mounted plasma guns but could I just add them on a pintle mount? Thanks for any feed back on this one.

It looks like this:

Note the twin plasmaguns fixed to either side of the lascannon.

Very nice use of the modern hatches on the old turret.

Most people seem to build the standard twin las turret and replace the las barrel on one side with either a pair of Plasma Pistol or Plasma Gun barrels. It seems to depend on wether or not they place them side-by-side or over-under.

I personally just go on E-bay and grab a piss poor painted one for cheap and then strip it and toss the old rhino in the terrain parts bin. :cuss

One thought I had, probably a bad one;). would be to model up a single las cannon turret and then modify the pintle mounted storm bolter to be a twin linked plasma gun. Not sure if it would look right and I don't have the parts to experiment with at the moment so i haven't botherd, but thought it might be one way to go about it, especially as per the faq the lascannon and the plasma guns are considered separate weapons.

That could actually look really good! Razorbacks don't typically have the normal stormbolter anyways, so you could chop the barrels off the stormbolter, and glue on parts from the ton of plasma pistols all Marine players have in their bitz box (I have about 30-40 of these damn things rotting in my bitz box).

It would also make it really easy to track which weapon was destroyed.
