I've done dry brushing before but the brush I used to use for it is no longer with me & my other brushes are still new so don't want to use them up dry brushing just yet. After I've gotten paint in the little band holding the bristles in one of them they're pretty much just useful only in that capacity.

Indeed they are. I've got a couple of other winged conversions coming up. One is fairly obvious but the other is less so but so makes sense after you think of it. The first I've pretty much got finished but the second one I'm still experimenting with still as the first draft was kinda lackluster.

Alrighty so here's another Blood Angels tank, this time a Vindicator. Well the Vindi is kinda plain but I like seeing the twin stormbolter guy in color. So here's some shots of this tank & I'll see what else I can post in the near future.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Vindicate4.jpg

This one was the last sight that poor Skaars saw when he foolishly believed his comrades jokes that if you plug the cannon before it shot it can't kill you.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Vindicate2.jpg

Yeah, this needs more Blood Angels insignia. If it weren't for the fact that it screams past at 12 IPT (inches per turn) & still shoots the big gun, opponents might not be sure who's it was.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Vindicate1.jpg

Ok the all red paint job is a clue but you don't know. What if a clumsy ork decided to ram his looted wagon through a blood bank before hitting the battlefield. It could happen.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Vindicate5.jpg

Of course now Black Templars can do the whole move 12" & shoot too. Sounds like someone's thunder has been stolen.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Vindicate3.jpg

Brother Gabe doesn't like that his chapter's thunder has been stolen. He bought this tank to shut up his neighbor but now his neighbor has a hemi & Gabe's still making payments on the tank.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Vindicate6.jpg

Gabe can hear him pull in now. Hmm, I wonder how much it would cost to get a Raven Guard to stick a potato in the tailpipe.

Speaking of which, that's one of the 1st Founding Chapters I haven't posted yet. Ok next set, I'll have some shots of WIP Raven Guard. I believe that leaves Iron Hands & Salamanders out. Don't worry I've got plans for them too.

I had intended to post about a Raven Guard Assault Squad but it seems a crucial bit has gone missing so I've had to order it from a bitz site. Until that shows up I'll just show what I've been doing in the down time during.

Left Marine: BLAM! Right between the legs.

Right Marine: Brother Hagar, you're horrible.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/SpaceWolves02.jpg

Short Beards are capable warriors. Wait that's not what they're called.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/SpaceWolves03.jpg

Bolter buddies!

LM: The Emperor Protects but a loaded bolter...

RM: Oh shut it. I've heard that one way too many times.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/SpaceWolves04.jpg

Back to back badasses!

LM: Is it just me or do we seem to fight bigger hordes of alien more & more?

RM: No you're right. Its how I keep track of Mondays.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/SpaceWolves05.jpg

For the most part these have been WYSIWYG but I was watching Face/Off while building these & so instead of just a pistol/ccw combo I decided on this combo instead.

I also have a pair of Imperial Fists. I've decided to make a pre-Heresy army & so the squads will have Mk3, Mk4 & Mk5 armor. Here's a pair of Fists in Mk4. Also I've more or less finished my Dark Angels Kill-Team.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist04.jpg

These guys have Black Templars symbols so I was thinking they'd represent elements of Sigmund's forces. Yeah sure, that's the reason.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/DarkAngels09.jpg

As you can see I still need to base these guys. This is 1 of 2 things to do before I can say they're truly done.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/DarkAngels10.jpg

The second thing is the lenses of the helmets. Haven't decided on a color yet.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/DarkAngels11.jpg

LM: You know what I hate about sentry duty?

RM: Long hours, sneak attacks, crushing boredom, hunger.

LM: Er I was wondering I left the stove on.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/DarkAngels12.jpg

LM: Off the Rhino, between the Guardsmen, left eye. Miss this one & you get a C.

RM: BLAM! Dammit! I hate playing HERETIC.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/DarkAngels13.jpg

The left Marine is mad cause I messed up the chapter symbol on his helmet. The right Marine is mad I cause I don't know what to write on his shoulder pad.

So Wargamescon 2011 has been announced & its narrative campaigns this year are the Badab War & all 3 Wars for Armageddon. While I really want to play in the Badab War (have the books after all) but I have 4 Chapters that were present in the Wars for Armageddon: Space Wolves, Ultramarines, Blood Angels & Salamanders. Of those, I know at least 3 Chapter Masters were present. So I'm intending to field them if I can. As such here's my Dante conversion. I didn't want a metal model I most likely won't use after-wards. Besides I had the bits to make him.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Dante1.jpg

Dante shows off his new wrist mounted infernus pistol. If his men get new shiny toys he should too. He's the boss after all.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Dante2.jpg

Shot of the front of the guy. The SG parts give a pretty dynamic look, as befits the boss. Not sure what to write on the parchment on his death mask. Hmm, wonder what's latin for "the boss" or simply "boss."

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Dante4.jpg

Never seen the official model so don't know what shoulder pad he has but I like this one. Also felt he should have a big axe, seeing he's the boss & all. Just wish it was a relic blade.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Dante3.jpg

Damn I thought I got a shot of the top of the jump pack. Could reshoot it but nah, no one likes working for the boss that much. Besides its just the pack from the plastic Death Company.

I'm not sure why nobody has commented on these... considering they are all fairly well done, and fairly amusing with the comedy added :D Might depend on people's taste though, so...

Dante was spot on, by the way. He has an axe in the official model, as well as a deathmask and an infernus pistol... because he's the boss ;)

Your marines with additional bolters are ackward, however, because they have to wield an additional weapon. This only appears in one Space Wolf and one Dark Angel, though, so it's not too big of a deal... but it still looks a little off.

@Dark Apostle Thirst- Thanks. I was trying to go for a switching weapons look. Switching from bolter to bolt pistol.

@Lotay- Yeah, I was going for Captain Morgan but the mustache plus hat kinda messes with that. Oh well.

@Mac the knife- I've got him primed & I'll get him painted when I do the next set of IF models.

@Generating Random Name- Huge C&C fan & I plan on making an army based on one of the factions after this project (actually waiting for a particular codex rumored to be updated soon).

--

Ok so Dante had a little deep strike mishap while priming. Cold, hard concrete beats superglue connections. As such I've put him to the side but I'll get to him soon. I've been informed that Calgar was another chapter master in the 2nd War for Armageddon. As such I've made a conversion for him as well. I'll probably do their 2nd in commands too.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Dante5.jpg

Where's your Tactical Precision now?!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Calgar1.jpg

The other boss Chapter Master. He's still a WIP. I need to figure how to put in the bolters & I wanna see if I can green stuff some added details.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Calgar2.jpg

Shot of the slightly modified backpack.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Calgar3.jpg

Not sure how to explain the reason for the swapped bionic eye. Hmm, its just a targeter. Or a monocle, yeah, that's it!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Calgar4.jpg

With his finger & POV slightly pointing downward I think I should place him on a rock or something. Or a pile of bodies. Definitely needs a bit of height increase. As he is now it looks like he's pointing at his opponent's open fly & laughing.

It is imperative that a video be made of the plasma gunner firing into advancing traitor marines before overheating at which point he throws his gun down and casts a glance over his shoulder before he pulls out his pistols in a Boondock Saints fashion and caps the enemies of man.

@Zeller That sounds like an awesome scene. I wish I or someone I knew could do CG movies, even primitive ones.

So got a Forge World order in & I've gotten down to working on the Raven Guard army I had in mind but I got a little side tracked.

With the leadership streak I've been on I kinda wanted to do another Chapter Master. The next logical step from Dante & Calgar would be Tu'Shan but I've got something specific in mind for him & getting the intended model is key. So where from there? I want to do a pre-Heresy Imperial Fists. Were they one of the Legions that referred to their great companies as Chapters? I don't know but screw it, here's a WIP for Sigismund, Emperor's Champion & leader of Dorn's elite, the Templars.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist05.jpg

Death to campers! This is the poised to strike pose. I've only pinned the sword arm & glued the pistol arm in case I wanna break it & repose that. The head, torso & legs are unglued. Trying to decide what pose to settle on & I thought some of them were too cool not to at least document.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist06.jpg

I like to think of this as his battered but unbroken pose. Either that or KNEEL before Dorn.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist07.jpg

Again a battered pose but a look of defiance in this one. I really like this one but I'd need to repose the pistol arm.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist08.jpg

I did this one looking for a triumphant look. Essentially the same one but standing. World of difference I think with just a leg change.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist09.jpg

This one I was going for a challenge stance. Feels like it should be different for a true "bring it" look but not sure what to change. Maybe just the pistol position again. I suppose I could just tilt the torso forward & go for a look like the metal Black Templar EC model.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/ImperialFist10.jpg

This was just cause I was bored a bit & having some fun. Oh wait, who might that be on the right...

Ah, the Raven Guard. I love the idea of a bunch of ninja Space Marines. So much I ended up writing 3 different lists based around 3 different characters: Shadow Captain Shrike, Shadow Captain Korvydae & Master of Shadows Accipiter. Wait, who is MoS Accipter? A made up character based off of Lias Issodon, the Raptor Chapter Master in Imperial Armor 9.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard04.jpg

Ah! A proper Chapter Master! Master of Shadows Accipiter defends the travel container of my lunch. Truly a noble warrior.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard05.jpg

A very simple conversion. Just added a captain's power pack & a Dark Angels Mk 6 helmet to the Master of Recruits. If you look closely at the helmet, you can see I shaved the handle of the sword to mimic the Chapter Symbol. This will show up quite a few times.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard02.jpg

An as yet unnamed sarge. I really like how this turned out. I lost the gun arm & had to bitz order a replacement. Glad I did as it meant I ended up getting the brass symbols at the same time.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard03.jpg

I love the idea that its possible the only way someone might figure out the Raven Guard were there is the caved in skull has a bird impression on it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard06.jpg

This is my Epistolary Kyaneus. I've very pleased how it turned out. I wasn't sure I could fit the birds it on the base. It's very likely he'll be the only model not in Corvus armor. Well, besides the Scouts anyways.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard07.jpg

The birds work well to represent a variety of psychic powers. Smite, force dome, mirage, avenger, machine curse, etc. Unfortunately its going to be hell to figure out how to transport it without damaging it.

Well that's it for now but I'll have some more Raven Guard sarges & an Iron Hand test model soon.

After being lost in the Warp I've finally got some time to sit down & work on this project again. Lets cut straight to the pics.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/IronHands01.jpg

Tired of holding up that bolter like every other chapter? Wish you could shoot from the hip like Bogart? Well with the new Iron Fore Grip you can! Order now & we will throw in a Blood Red Dot Scope for half off! (For the Iron Hands test model I wanted to try a different way of painting black & this is the result.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard08.jpg

Here's a shot of my Raven Guard Dev Sarge. From the looks of things he either doesn't know how to work a Signum or the genestealers are about to come out of the walls... (I don't mean to but a lot of my Marines eyes end up looking confused 0_o )

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard09.jpg

Have Hammer. Will Travel. (This RAS Sarge is very simple & I think that's why I like him a lot. Might be the thunder hammer now that I think of it. A hammer meant to smash tanks... Ok its the hammer. Could use some shading on that parchment though)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard10.jpg

Here Master of Shadows Accipiter wonders why a Chapter Master only gets a power dagger. Oh well, I guess the super bolter with spec ammo makes up for it. (I used a modified Dark Angel head but I really don't like how the symbol turned out. I'm either going to repaint it or paint over it)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard11.jpg

Here's Chapter Champion D'Kestrel & Master of Recruits Korvaydae with a helmet on. They're on a nearly airless rock for the setting. That's it. Also I hate painting faces. Something I didn't notice till this picture: Korvaydae is so riled up he bent his hammer. :( D'Kestrel is a WIP so he's probably going to be changed up a bit but this will be his general layout.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard12.jpg

Here's another angle to show Korvaydae's wings. This is the second time I've used these banners for wings but the first time I didn't file them down to look more like wings. The first time was on my *REDACTED*. Those are getting redone but I'm waiting on replacement models. For the Chapter Champ I wanted a samurai pose but I forgot to factor in the wings. Well too late to turn the sword around. D'oh!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/BloodAngels12.jpg

Elsewhere in the Imperium a Blood Angel Librarian charges at a hapless photographer. In the 41st millennium celebrities only sign photos in blood. Your blood. (I had this guy in my list forever but only now got around to making the model. He's also a WIP but here's the rough draft)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/BloodAngels13.jpg

Last but not least here's da boss! Having survived a deep strike mishap onto a cold concrete floor, Dante arrives fully painted. He's mad as hell though as I messed up his title. What's worse is I'm too lazy to fix it :P

@Marshal Angman

I know about the gold bar but honestly I'm not sure how to go about it. I suck at free hand but the decals included already have the bar as part of it. I've been working on them as well & have them near to what I want but those chap symbols are the what's got me perplexed.

@Dark Apostle Thirst

Thanks. I need to buy some washes in the near future & I might as well pick up some brown. I'll repost him afterwards.

Ah Xmas has passed & I've had a chance to work on some more yesterday. Here's today's trio:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/RavenGuard13.jpg

This is the Tac Sarge of Squad Idunno. If you've got a squad full of meatshields then I say take a power fist. They'll happily have to take the hit for him. (I am really tempted to put the tactical arrows on his shins with the words cut out, pointing to his feet but I think I'd have to explain the joke that the enemy is fated or doomed to an ass kicking every time someone asks.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/IronHands02.jpg

Bionics. What can't they replace? Do you need a new pair of legs? You too can own a pair of Lucius Pattern Lifter Feet. What? Don't need new legs? Well order now & we'll toss in a pair of bolt rounds so you can "qualify" for this shiny new upgrade for free! (Don't know why I'm making my Iron Hands infomercial stars but why not? Anyways I wanted to make some different looking bionics & here's one idea I had. Why not I never like the model it came from but I got them for free pretty much. Why not use them?)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v120/trex238/Ultramarines05.jpg

Some people don't get any love. Poor Agemman of the Ultramarines. His boss is rumored to put some upstart in the company after his as the new boss when he's retired. To top it off he's not feeling like a full man right now. (This is the start of Severus Agemman using the rules for Carab Culln from FW. This means I get to give him a really big axe & apparently not a whole lot else at the moment. He should look more complete next time. Oh & I realize the big U on his chest is kinda gaudy but hey he's an Ultramarine. All of them strive to have either a big gold or ivory bling on them.)
