I was commissioned to paint all the Dark Angels banners, the first of which is the Chapter Banner. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h167/aerixis/dark%20angels/P5120032.jpg I ended up using the tutorial by Jow Tomasewski (sp) in the issue of White Dwarf for this particular banner, but i'm probably going to use similar tecniques for the other 3. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h167/aerixis/dark%20angels/P5120033.jpg This close up shows the amount of detail I had to pour into this. The X being there is debatable (since we can't see it), E can be used as a variation of Ex and still means "out of" as in "E Pluribus Unum".
