Loki's Dark Angels

Recommended Posts

Hey guys / gals / indeterminate cyborg constructs of the B&C :)

I've come back to 40k after 10 years out of the hobby. Previously I played an Eldar army (boo!) in 2E and played with a small group of friends, generally taking over each others parents dining tables on alternate weekends...

I'm now 29 and have fallen back into the hobby as a break from staring at computer screens 24/7 and to exercise a little of my creativity, else I'm going to go spare!

I posted a pic of one of my DA's in the DA forum but decided I'd better not clog that up with my WIP's - so here goes, you lucky people...

The 10 year marine - I started this mini just before I quit playing and I finished him 2 days ago, call it an extended WIP.

Here's the rest of his squad - note they aren't finished, lots of details not painted. I was waiting on finishing them off until I'd managed to paint a new squad with colours similar enough that I wouldn't have to start from scratch. I'd completely forgotten what paints I'd used and GW happened to change the entire paint range whilst I was away, helpful!

Here's todays progress on paint matching, close enough - however the photo's made me realise I've got a fair few more highlights to go yet. Really happy with how the bolter turned out, I want that red to be the link colour across my Green, Raven and Deathwing models.

New base scheme - when I stopped playing it was pretty much sand, goblin green, snot green drybrush - finished. However basing seems to have come on a bit so I've settled on a new base scheme. Wanted something brown / deserty as the green with green PA wasn't doing it for me.

And here's what is left to come... Excuse the pink walls, my office is the kids old bedroom and hasn't been painted yet. I can just tell the DA's don't approve of being held hostage in such a pretty environment.

7 DW Termies + 2 old school 'Exo' terminators

6 RW Bikers

Ezekiel

Captain / Company Master

IC in Termie armour

Chaplain in PA

Techmarine

Librarian in PA

Standard Bearer

Plus the rest of the Tac squad that goes with the WIP model above.

All this was bought at the last Gamesday I went to before quiting, except the 2 new bikers I bought to give me legal squads.

Next on the list to buy is a mix of Termies to give me more options, a dread or 2 plus some transport options and extra Heavy Support.

I'm also working on ideas for a Belial conversion for one of the old Exo termies, however I'm not sure my sculpt-fu is up to it yet :D

Anyhow, cheers guys - crits and comments always welcome.

Thanks,

LokisSword

As a long time Dark Angel player, let me be one of the first to say that those Dark Angels look absolutley gorgeous!

I love anything that harkens back to the days of 2nd Ed, and these guys certainly fit the bill. Please update us as you carry on!

Cheers,

WW
