NMM Armageddon 2 Tycho

Here are my pictures of my (finally!) completed Captain Tycho, as he appeared during the 2nd War For Armageddon (before his facial injury). I dread to think how many hours I have spent on this model in total, but am real proud of the results, particularly the freehand and NMM as I only very rarely venture into these techniques (it's been about 6 years since I last attempted NMM).

I really hate the heraldry on the left shoulder pad of the GW sculpt - the blobby blood drops just look like some greenstuff that somebody sat on! I therefore decided to use parts from the Death Company kit to create a more stylised, ornate version:

Detail of right shoulder pad an freehand on the cloak, inspired by the BA Captain in the new Codex:

Dead Man's Hand and cloak (note green-stuffed base for ballast!):

I hear what you are saying about the Sang Guard legs and greaves, and I did try them in the first instance, but they are all running/jumping and didn't suit the look I wanted.

Thanks for the positive feedback though guys!

I saw this when it was still WIP and thought it was very impressive. Now it's finshed I cannot fault the paintig, it the blending looks seemless and the NMM is carried off very well.

However, I did notice that his left wrist is at a very funny angle and he appears to have to wrist seals on his gauntlet, I assume this was caused by the constraints of the components you've used and it's not a major issue because it's hidden from view from most angles. This is not meant as criticism as such, more just an observation as it is a great mini ^_^

If it's emulating the effect of shiny metal without metallic paint, surely it's NMM? Even if arguably only to a basic standard.

Fine. The "NMM" needs more work. Check out the blood angels edition white dwarf for a tutorial on how to do it properly.
