Sangneur
As a short description, I play a renegade chapter which has come to incorporate aspects of legionairy troops, to represent this I play with both marines and Chaos space marines, though not at the same time. Usually it's obvious because of how spiky the proper warriors are. Now, a couple of games ago I wanted to try out using sternguard whilst playing as marines, so I proxied them with a handful of possessed. After the game I got to thinking: would that be a valid replacement? I've not been too interested in the sternguard models themselves, and the possessed do suck as a unit, so I won't be wanting because of their loss in my army. Plus it makes sense to a degree, units like Tzeentchian flamers change the properties of their weapons from shot to shot, so the varying effects of the Sternguard rounds is accounted for with counts as. kharn_the_betrayer
I think that idea sounds good if you want a viable proxy for sternguard. TS units might be the best bet if you have them around to use for the units I think those would be best but given the usual nature of Tzeentch I would say that would be your best bet.
