shatter
Flying has nothing to do, rules-wise, with Deep Strike. Jump Packs give them DS, and being with a slower unit doesn't remove their jump packs. It removes the effect of jump packs. Jump packs cannot hop over terrain when there's a non JP model attached to the unit. ie. the benefit of jump packs is removed. Anyway, I've started a thread in the rules section. Here. edit: added quote for clarity
JamesI
shatter, is there a non-fluff reason you are so against this concept? Its really in game not a good one, but it is legal.
shatter
My present list would profit from it enormously, but I simply don't think it was ever intended. Legal because it doesn't say you can't? *sigh*
igotsmeakabob!!
I'm guessing it *was* intended (albeit not exactly fluffy.. but hell, I guess there's a way to explain it), but as neither of us can know for sure.. It's legal because the rules infer as such. By RAW, it works. None of the rules that you've stated have actually invalidated the ability of Jump Packs or Terminator armor to Deep Strike. The rules you've provided don't have anything to do with removing the DS special rule from units that have JPs.

JamesI
Considering this topic is now under discussion in the Official Rules forum, lets close this one instead of the same people debating the same points in two different threads.
