Swiftclaws and skyclaws!

So I have a squad of 10 of each of these, but never used the bikes and the skyclaws were used once, vs nids (they did really well)

But never really used them!

So I am asking for tactics on using them, and why and who against would use these guys?

My lists normally have twc instead, but convince me why these gusy could be better (unless you dnt think they are)

They're different to Thunder Wolf Cavalry. Basically they're Blood Claws with mobility. Because of that I prefer to take Skyclaws over Blood Claws, it's only three points to gain the mobility of a jump pack. I have a pack of ten Swiftclaws that I'm trying to finish off, but because they cost more than Skyclaws and don't do anything substantially better I'm not sure that I want to use them.

Whatever form they take they must have a Wolf Priest. Oath of War will help compensate for their poor WS and help to land all the attacks they get. They are a glass hammer though (probably Skyclaws moreso than Swiftclaws, toughness 5 would make a difference there) they get hit more easily than normal marines (against WS4 foes) and consequently take more casualties (unfortunately we can't give every unit furious charge and feel no pain like a certain ball of red cheese) so making the most of the charge is essential.

My squad has 10 men, a power fist and a flamer. I haven't tried mark of the Wulfen yet, I only just started using it on my Lone Wolf, but I imagine that it could have its moments.

Tactics? Well, "charge" is an obvious one. If you can get a second pack to support them that would be even better.

In addition to Fremen's good advice, I've got a few points to add on the subject. First, Skyclaws are nice and cheap for Jump Infantry, and they'll get an extra attack beyond the Jump Infantry/Assault units of other Space Marine forces. They really only have one roll which is as a dedicated Assault (when the Wolves are on the offensive), or Counterassault Force (when the Wolves are on the defensive). As Fremen said, attach a Wolf Priest to them with an appropriate Oath (usually against Infantry), to get the most out of them. A drawback is that you cannot put a Wolf Guard Leader with them.

Swiftclaws, however, have a little more flexibility (although they are also more expensive). I prefer to use a smaller pack of Swiftclaws (3-4 Bikes, with Attack Bike, and Wolf Guard Leader) as a Mobile Reserve. Essentially, the job of the Mobile Reserve is to hang out in cover (or off the table in Reserves) for a few turns. You watch the battle develop and look for opportunities for the Mobile Reserve to exploit. Because they have excellent mobility, with the option to Turbo-Boost, they are an excellent fit for this role. Once you commit them, they can do about anything you need them to, and can complete tasks as: a Disruption Force, an Anti-Tank Force, and even an Assault Force (depending on the target). You absolutely have to have a "supervisor" with them (I use a Wolf Guard Leader), to allow them to still shoot their weapons, take advantage of Relentless, and get in a charge, too.

My recommendation is to look at your army holistically, and ensure you have units built to accomplish the tasks that you expect that you need them to accomplish, and have some redundancy. If you already have 5 dedicated Assault Forces, then you probably need to diversify, and start looking at other units/roles to fill.

Do a forum search for littlbitz and consider shooting him a PM in case he doesn't see this topic

He is the expert on swift claws and uses them in tournaments. He has posted a few batreps with great details on how he uses them and what he has found to be successful

It should prove very useful
