That did make me laugh, though i wont be using it seeing as the craft store across the road from my local GW sell A4 sheets of plasticard at less than £1 !

A better source of plasticard and foam board is shop point-of-sale displays. Check the marketin stuff round big stores next time you're in, most of the big stuff is foamboard and a lot of the smaller stff is plasticard.

Find out when the sales promo period ends (it's quite often printed on the PoS itself, so the staff know when it's out-of-date) and ask if you can collect it when they're changing it over. If they're being sticky tell them you run the local school's Gaming club and it'll help the kids... :)

Hell, I went to Target and for .89 cents, I got a HUGE For Sale Sign that just so happened to be a sheet of Plasticard!
