Jt3n
Hello brothers, Working on my very first order for my 1000pt starting blood angels army list and the paint supplies I need from GW and had a question regarding whether or not librarian models come with a jumppack. The option is listed in the codex but I've got the feeling that I'm going to be ordering some extra jumppacks. Thanks for the info guys, just wanted to be sure I'm not ordering parts I don't need quite yet. Also; If you were running an army with two librarians, would you buy different librarian models or just pose two of the same differently? For my purposes they are geared the same (bolt pistol/force weapon), so different models for me would require some minor modifications. Keep in mind that I'm somewhat new to the hobby. :) Thanks guys! -Jt3n Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201543-librarians-whats-in-the-box/ Share on other sites
Brother Theophantus
Unfortunately Libbys only come with standard gear so its a case of looking at the pics of the different models and see which one takes your fancy. Any upgrades are gonna require a bitz box raid. Hope this helps. SamaNagol
You would have to purchase an additional Jump Pack, but instead of getting one from Games Workshop, you can buy them individually on eBay for a minimal amount. Check www.games-workshop.com and check out the Space Marine HQ section under Warhammer 40,000 Armies. They show all of the librarians available there. All of the Librarians in power armour are armed with force weapon and a pistol of some sort. My personal favourite is the one with the staff and holding the book. Jt3n
Thanks for the replies, I'm trying to order as much as I can from my local gaming shop, even if it's a bit more than ebay. The only things I plan to get on ebay or other sites are the black reach mini-rulebook and maybe the templates. Other than that if it's GW I'll try to support my local shop. :) As far as the models go I planned on one with the sword and one with the axe. How difficult would it be to replace the plasma pistol with a bolt pistol? I figure i should have an extra pistol or two from my other purchases. If not maybe I can find someone at the shop with a spare. Hopefully it comes out alright. -Jt3n Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201543-librarians-whats-in-the-box/#findComment-2401341 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Not hard, the one with the sword has a plastic right arm IIRC. As for the jump pack, youll need them for all your HQs really, so Id suggest just picking up an extra box of death company more than you think youll need and using the bitz from that to make some interesting conversions. Thats what I would do too. Awesome box. Lots of cool stuff. Or you could buy another Sang Guard box if you like the winged JPs. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201543-librarians-whats-in-the-box/#findComment-2401496 Share on other sites
