Battle 1

The first battle was against orks. He had two battle wagons, nob bikers with painboy and three powerclaws. Three truks full of orks and acouple big units footslogging. On top of that he had Ghazkull with another unit of nobz im sure I leaving things out but you get the just of it.

It was a brawl, I must say the nob bikers were beyond brutal taking out my wolf guard, scouts, a land raider, and a grey hunter squad and to top it off the nobz were alive and well at the end of the game holding an objective for the ork player. My Rune Priest killed Ghazkull and with my blood claws and remaining Grey hunters I took the game at the last turn. If the ork player would have got one more turn I have little doubt it would have been him that won.

Battle 2

Blood Angels! It was a slug fest both of us had next to nothing left at the end of the game, he had a death company dreadnought, a furioso drednought and Mephiston left(Mephiston had four wounds on him though). I had both my land raiders two of my grey hunters squads some what intact, rune priest and a few of my scouts left at the end. I eeked out a minor victory

High-lights of the game where Mesphiston slaying my wolflord out right, one of his dreadnoughts (forget which one it was) plowed through my full unit of bloodclaws in two assault rounds! The dreadnought kept getting extra attacks from his special ability. My thunderwolves massacred the deathcompany and my two scout squads coming in on turn two and wrecking his two bhal predators.

Battle 3

Sadly my third battle was against a fellow Space wolf (there were three space wolf players there) My rivals HQ choices were Bjorn with assault cannon and two Rune priests both had living lighting not sure what their other two powers were. He also had two land raiders one normal and one redeemer, two land speeders with multi-meltas, three grey hunters in rhinos, all his grey hunters had a company banner with a mark of the wolfen, ten bloodclaws in a land raider and a mixed TDA power armor unit of wolf guard with a rune priest in the other land raider, oh and he had long fangs with the other rune priest.

I am not going to lie I could do no wrong this battle, my land raiders out dueled and destroyed his, my thunderwolves tore apart rhinos and grey hunters, my wolfguard destroyed his wolfguard and at the end of six turns only Bjorn was left standing against me, I still had over half my army and I got max points for the battle.

I hope you enjoyed my tale and my apologies for any bad grammar a bit tired at the moment.

It wasn't easy but I made it to the semi finals. <_< Ale on me all night long! I Hope many more Wolflords will be moving on as well.

I'm not sure I qualify as a true wolflord, but my Iron Wolves (Logan wing painted as Iron warriors using old chaos termies) took first locally. As mostly IG player, it was a lot of fun having so few units and models.

It's nice to have small groups of elite warriors, but even by taking full advantage of squad coherency and spacing of models it can be difficult to control ground. Being able to field larger squads such as fenrisian wolves helps to offset it a bit for us, but the one thing I always consider when going up against my local ork player is just how easily she can create a living wall.

I took first using the Wolves as well, though I'm also only using the rules, not the actual models. My Lords of Oblivion have more of a lizard/dragon theme going, so my Thunderwolves were converted to be riding Cold Ones from fantasy instead (which I got a lot of compliments on). Still in the process of painting them, though.

Anyway, I had three Land Raiders, each with a squad of Grey Hunters inside and one Rune Priest, two Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves, one with TH/SS and Bear, the other with PF/SS and Majesty, and a WGBL on TWM with PF/SS. All three had Runic Armor and Necklace/Talismans with wolves attached, starting with a 4-man TWC cavalry squad with three SS's, a TH, and melta-bombs to make them fully complex.

Game one was versus Chaos Marines, bunches of Thousand Sons and a 20-man unit of CSMs. I pretty much ate everything in close-combat, including Abaddon, and he had one Aspiring Sorcerer left at the end to keep me from a full massacre.

Game two was against Eldar, three Falcons with Fuegan and Karandas leading the charge, annihilated everything. I was able to positing my Wolf Lord with the TH/SS behind his falcon carrying harlequins, and wrecked it. With him blocking the only exit point, the harlequins were auto-killed. Fuegan and Karandas took a while to kill in combat, but eventually the whole army was annihilated (obviously a massacre).

And game three was against Chaos Marines again. He had two Land Raiders and three Rhinos, double-Lash Princes and some Obliterators. There was a lot of exchanging fire between the Land Raiders, until my Thunderwolves got around to smashing them in assault. Also tabled that army, so I took first with 67 points altogether (second place had 50 points).

I was actually kind of glad I didn't have to face Blood Angels, as I hadn't gotten a chance to read the codex at all so I'd have had no idea what I was facing. As it was, the only BA player got himself kicked out in round one for threatening his opponent after he lost a rules dispute, heh.

Khan,

Best ways to be rid of knobs in any form is JoTWW.

Second would probably be Long Fangs.

With either way above you have a good chance of causing a break test. If they don't have a warboss they are LD 7. If you get the bosspole with JoTWW he's in bad shape. If he's also under half he's gone for the game.

Arjac isn't bad but you'll loose the Grey Hunter squad in the process. Arjac can even instant death a Warboss on a bike. - Be sure to have a standard for that first round of combat as well. And if you think you're going to loose combat by a lot, make sure to get all the Grey Hunters killed if possible (Don't wound allocate to avoid deaths.) This will allow Arjac to take advantage of stubborn and hold the Knobs in combat without taking any saves. Though if you used a standard that round you should be fine in either case. Depending on how many PK Knobs are left you should be fine to wipe out the unit.

Engaging Knobs in close combat - even as a SW - is always undesirable. If you insist on it, Arjac, Logan, or Nasty Wolf lords are the only reliable choices.
