chaplain belisarius
Hi, how many of you guys play flesh tearers? Whats the difference between FT and BA? thanks.
Crazy Eight
I play flesh tearers wicked fluff for them . As for differance between FT and BA there really isnt any other that the fact that in the fluf the FT are completely mental and have only 300 marines left i think
Grimm Blade
I do, I do!!! I agree that the fluff is the main diff. GB
River Black
I do... sort of. I love the old FT fluff and my army is painted in the FT color scheme, however my army hasn’t been played like a traditional FT army. For example, I made my own commander for my FT army which is a counts as Dante. (I think the stats and abilities better fit my play style) I have also been including heavier vehicles such as Baal Preds and Vindicators despite the earlier fluff which stated that the FT only really had WW, Rhinos and Razorbacks left. That fluff was somehow left out when the new Dex came out.
Prosedragon
Me too!! Their Chaoter Master's name is Seth, my name is Seth...it was fate.
Jakobus
I do, and again it was the fluff that did it for me

terminatorAM
Same here. I really like the fluff saying their equipment is less fancy than the BA and their chapter is slowly dieing off (I was under the impression it was 400 marines). Anyways Im painting my army to represent the dirty, beat-up feel of the tearers even though im including more than one heavy tank and playing them a little different than the traditional, but I insist on having a death company and Seth in every list
Whitefireinferno
I too am a Tearer of Flesh and for me it was their Brutality that Drew me to them during their Chapter Approved list then that died so I took a break from them and yeah now I am back. Carnus Caedes
Me... I'm a fan of the RT black Flesh Tearers... was delighted to see them done in the whitedwarf... and have been doing them exclusively since '87... when the marine were a more brutal lot tearing flesh, eating flesh and drinking... well.. blood. Still got my RTB01 beakies and EVERY metal space marine marine tank inc. a few LRs and 6 dome topped preds of that period (anyone remember the Xmas marines and the 1 month M/O only lizard mounts for the rtb01 marine? quite fitting proxies for FT bikes squads)... but stripped the plastics with simple green (the lead with acetone) and re-invisaged in the current colours... Priest33
Well id say with all of your armies that would equal 300ish marines. So looks like no one else in the world gets to play Flesh Tearers. <_< ;)

Extartius
I play Flesh Tearers... I was looking for a loyalist force that hadn't been done in my area, Blood Angels were on the horizon, so I looked at their successors, the Flesh Tearers fluff sealed the deal! Love them so much that my 2000 point cap appears to have been blown off... to the tune of a further 200 points!
Jakobus
Quick question to all FTs, what colours are being used for the red and how are you highlighting?
Malus the Destroyer
I do P3 black primer, 3-4 layers Red gore, wash with badab black, and highlight with thinned Mechite red. Unfortunately, my camera batteries appear dead. So I'll get a pic of ole Seth up soon I hope to show how mine turns out.
Mortarion
I play FT as well. I wanted to do a worn and "realistic" looking marine army and the Flesh tearers background suited that perfectly. For the red, I use the old Scab red highlighted with Blood red. Unfortunately, Scab red is quite different now from what it used to be so I have to mix my own... :o
Vilicate
I play them. For the red, I've been going with Mechrite Red washed Leviathan Purple and then re-highlighted with the same red. It looks really nice.
Captain Augustus
I am thinking about it. I got a terminator done that I did black base coat, 2 layers of red gore and then a wash of Baal Red atm. How do you have the shoulder pad for yours as mine are red gore with a black power fist would that look ok for a FT terminator
Firedrake28
I play Flesh Tearers too and I do so because I love their paint scheme and fluff. It's so much fun to get a nice looking Flesh Tearer army on the battlefield. They look mean as hell!
Droofus
Quick question to all FTs, what colours are being used for the red and how are you highlighting? Scab red with magenta ink overwash. I don't like how brightly they are often done (lots of people paint them like "Blood Angels with black shoulder pads and helmets"... *points at avatar*). So this produces the appropriate "Wine Dark" and "blood slick" look that the chapter deserves. Also, it doesn't take too long, which is key for me. A three step process (including primer) is about all I can stand for my main chapter color.
