Painting Terminator Helments

Just assembled some assault terminators and am thinking about how to paint them. Obviously, red is a good color but for some reason, I'm feeling that I'd like the helmets to stand out a bit more. Here are the colors I have in mind:

1. Assault Marine Yellow -- Matches them up and looks coherent with other assaulty units but they are terminators

2. NMM Gold -- A brighter yellow than #1 that I use for the almost all the iconography on my models, grails, skulls, and even the imperial eagle on the chests (instead of the black). Probably my first choice really, even though I listed it second. This would also match any vets I have in my army, but there aren't any of those yet!

3. Black -- Black would stand out a bit and it goes with black in other areas of the army like the BA chapter badge and weapons.

4. Gray -- can look very good with the rest of the armor red, and might tie into the crux terminatus on the shoulder, but doesn't really appear anywhere else in my army

5. White -- similar to C:SM vets, but not really any other white in my entire army

6. Purple and Green -- These don't really fit but I have both colors in my army as power weapons, purity seals, sights, lights, etc...

If you have thoughts or pictures of BA terminators with helmets other than red while while still in traditional BA red armor, I'd love to see them. Links or pics would be great. thanks!

paint it adeptus battlegray and give it a light wash(not watered down but rather a thin coat) of badab black. then highlight it with astronomicon gray. it will come out as a deep gray.

you want to keep the whites for your priests and you are right purple won't fit. green is ok but i would reserve that for stuff like scouts, sterns, van vets. it also sounds like you have a lot of gold in your army. so to paint it gold, it may just get lost. you would have to make most of the model gold for it to stand out.

hope it helps

And whats wrong with that? BA's have the most elaborate armour out there, or so their fluff says.... so paint them all gold I say!!! :P, actually theres alot of gold in my army too for decorations as it just seems to go with the fluff about them being such great artisans... try grey to see if its what you want.... also if you have alot of gold and your termies are red and grey theyll look dull so go for gold accents on your armour is my suggestion if you do go for those colour helmets

Thanks for the comments, and I'll probably try this out along with the gold and see which I prefer.
